Audition Requirements

Please contact the Theatre Program to set up an audition appointment by calling 520-621-7008 or email: theatre@email.arizona.edu All those attending must bring a picture and performing resume. Resume should include name, address, phone number, and email address. Before making an audition appointment you must University of Arizona and complete your on-line application to the College of Fine Arts. first complete an application to the

Professional Actor Training Program Audition Requirements:  Everyone must perform one monologue from the Theatre Program’s approved list (see Men's/Women's Monologues below). You must choose from this list, no substitutions.

During the auditions you may be asked to present additional material. Please be prepared to do a second monologue of your choice: this can be any material you feel is appropriate for an audition and that shows your strengths, and is not from our required monologue list.

BFA in Musical Theatre Audition Requirements:  Everyone must perform one monologue from the Theatre Program’s approved list (see Men's/Women's Monologues above). You must choose from this list, no substitutions. During the auditions you may be asked to present additional material.

AND

TWO Musical Theatre songs. Sing two contrasting Musical Theatre songs: one ballad and one up-tempo. Each song should be 32 measures. An accompanist will be provided in Tucson ONLY. Bring your music in the key you will be singing. For the Tucson auditions, you may not sing with a tape. For the Los Angeles Auditions please bring your own CD there will not be an accompanist (CD player will be provided for you).

DVD Audition Requirements

DVD auditions will be accepted if you cannot attend the auditions in person. The same rules for the Acting or Musical Theatre auditions above apply (including approved monologues limitations). Do not include a second monologue of your own choosing. DVD's must be received by 5:00 PM, Friday, February 18, 2011 for fall admissions (no late submissions accepted). Include your picture and resume and state whether you are auditioning for the BFA Acting Program or BFA Musical Theatre Program. Also, state whether you will be entering as a freshman or as a transfer student. Please label your DVD with your name, address, and phone number. Mail DVD, Resume and headshot to:
