TUCSON FRINGE FESTIVAL Performance Applications Open July 1, 2026

TUCSON FRINGE FESTIVAL

2027 Season  •  Performance Application

Applications Open July 1, 2026   •   Festival Dates: January 28–31, 2027

The performance application for the 2027 Tucson Fringe Festival is almost upon us. We've made a few changes since last year that we're excited to share with you.

What's New for 2027

One Live In-Person Venue

Due to greater financial constraints and increased competition for grant funding, the 2027 festival will feature one live in-person venue. The limited availability of suitably located venues also contributed to this decision. While this means a smaller performer pool, several structural changes have been made to compensate.

Two Performances Per Show

The biggest change for 2027: each show will have two performances, except for short Fleeting Fringe shows and virtual shows. This simplifies scheduling and—as we grow back to multiple venues—will make it easier for audiences to catch more acts without conflicts.

Independently Produced Shows

We are adding Independently Produced shows as a new festival option, similar to the former Bring Your Own Venue (BYOV) model. These shows secure their own venue, insurance, and technical and box office staff, and are not subject to the festival lottery. For details, contact:

Live on Zoom: Discontinued

We have sunset the Live on Zoom option. Declining artist applications and reduced audience attendance over the past two years drove this decision. Pre-recorded content will continue to be available on Vimeo and YouTube.

Local Merchandise Partner

We are partnering with a local printing company to handle standard printing as well as buttons, stickers, and T-shirts. The strong T-shirt interest we saw last year caught us underprepared—a local partnership should solve that for good.
