ARIZONA THEATRE COMPANY IS NOW ACCEPTING HIGH SCHOOL APPLICANTS FOR SUMMER ON STAGE PROGRAM

Ten full scholarships are available

 

Up to forty high-school students have the opportunity to learn from theatre professionals and perform on Arizona Theatre Company’s stage with Summer on Stage 2008.  

 

Sponsored by Arizona Theatre Company, the state's leading professional theatre company, and the nationally recognized University of Arizona School of Theatre Arts, Summer on Stage is an intensive five-week theatre program where participants learn a variety of acting techniques including character development, voice for the actor, scene and monologue study, movement and dance. Students are educated through classroom work, and an intensive rehearsal process leads to two fully mounted productions performed at the Temple of Music and Art, the home of Arizona Theatre Company. The productions, one play and one musical, are to be announced.

 

Classes are June 30 - August 2, 2008; Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm. Performance dates are July 30 - August 2, 2008 at 7pm.

 

Classes are held at the University of Arizona and the Temple of Music and Art in downtown Tucson.

 

EARLY REGISTRATION is $575 and the deadline is MAY 1, 2008.

 

REGULAR REGISTRATION is $625 and the deadline is JUNE 1, 2008.

 

LATE REGISTRATION is $675 and the deadline is JUNE 15, 2008. Financial aid is available to those who qualify. Space is subject to availability and registration.
