A.C.P. Youth Performance: Summer Acting Club ~ May 27- July 15

ArtCulture Partnership (A.C.P.) Artist in Residence, Sofia Blue hosts a Summer Acting Club for kids and teens on Tuesday afternoons beginning May 27 through July 15.  Sessions will include:  Improvisation games, Costumes, Props, Voice training for stage, Sound, Lighting, Magic Tricks, Coney Island Mock Carnival, Acting techniques, and more… For Kids and Teens, Ages 8-17, 2:00 – 4:00 pm, May 27-July 15.  947 E. 35th St.  FREE, Registration limited and required. “Philanthropy with Phlavor” at Pastiche - Donate while you dine the month of June!

The entire month of June month you can have your cake and share it too – with one of your favorite charities. Pastiche Modern Eatery will donate five percent of your purchase to your choice of 40 local charities every time you dine at the restaurant, order takeout, shop in the wine store or buy Pastiche gift certificates during the month of June. Pastiche owners Pat and Julie Connors have sponsored “Philanthropy with Phlavor” twice each year – in June and October. Over the past eight years, they have donated more than $80,000 to various local charities. Because of this ongoing community support, Pastiche received a 2008 Lumie Award from the Tucson Pima Arts Council for outstanding support of the arts.

Arizona Theatre Company accepting HS applicants for Summer On Stage Program

Up to forty high-school students have the opportunity to learn from theatre professionals and perform on Arizona Theatre Company’s stage with Summer on Stage 2008. Summer on Stage is an intensive five-week theatre program where participants learn a variety of acting techniques including character development, voice for the actor, scene and monologue study, movement and dance. Students are educated through classroom work, and an intensive rehearsal process leads to two fully mounted productions performed at the Temple of Music and Art. Classes are June 30 - August 2, 2008. Early Registration is $575 and the deadline is MAY 1. Regular Registration is $625 and the deadline is JUNE 1, 2008. Cabaret Theatre

Join facilitator Esther Almazán and other adventurous spirits every Monday night at 7pm for a curious romp through the world of Vaudeville acting. We will explore the big and bold acting styles of vaudeville, Commedia Dell ’Arte, and cabaret in a workshop setting. Inexperienced as well as experienced actors aged 18-105 are welcome to join in at anytime while we work with racy and daring original material to develop new sketches and enhance performance skills in a presentational, vaudeville style. Youth Summer Program at Beowulf Alley Theatre

Enrollment is now open for Acting @ the Alley, Beowulf Alley Theatre Company’s 2008 summer theatre program for students ages 12-17. Only 30 students will be accepted for each two-week session. The sessions will run Monday-Friday, 8:45am – 4pm. Session 1 will be June 16 – June 27; Session 2 July 7 – July 18; and Session 3 July 21 – August 1, 2008. Students will work with professional actors, directors and theatre arts educators. Students will have a fun, active, hands-on theatre experience primarily focusing on acting and including many aspects of theatre production. Each session is $400 and there is a $25 registration fee.
