The Stage Write Workshop is excited to announce a new kind of class—the one-day mini-workshop!

This is a great opportunity for students who don’t have the time or budget to enroll in an 8-week course. Each intensive mini-workshop lasts for 3 hours, and only costs $40. And the more, the merrier—so invite your friends as well!

Our first two mini-workshops are coming right up:

Playwriting for Teens

Saturday, October 2, 10am-1pm

Students will learn how to:

  • find dramatic potential in their story ideas
  • develop well-rounded characters
  • write a monologue
  • create character-driven dialogue
  • properly format a script

Intro to Writing a Musical

Saturday, October 9, 9am-12pm

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • explore ten different forms of musicals
  • analyze favorite showtunes for craft and context
  • practice writing character-based lyrics
  • experiment with the dramatic uses of music
  • create compelling song moments within a scene

The classes will be taught by nationally award-winning writer and educator, Nathan Christensen. For more details, go to www.stagewriteworkshop.com or email stagewriteworkshop@gmail.com.

We hope to see you soon.

Nathan Christensen

Director, Stage Write Workshop
