Open Casting Call for School of Theatre, Film and TV BFA Senior Films

Film Production BFA Seniors will hold open casting calls to audition roles for the 11 fiction short films being produced over the course of the year. The auditions will take place Friday, September 24 from 9am-5pm and Sunday, September 26 from 12-3pm in Harvill 104 (1103 E. 2nd Street) at the UA.

Actors will be scheduled in advance to attend time slots. Actors will perform “cold” readings with the sides made available at the audition. The production period ranges from mid-October through mid-December; exact shooting dates depend on the individual production. Actors will work on a volunteer basis and receive a DVD of the competed film. SAG actors must be willing to work under the Student Film Agreement. Actors are encouraged to bring a headshot and resume to the audition.

The films include a range of styles and need male and female actors of various ages and ethnicities. Additionally, the films themselves cover a broad range of topics and genres. Summaries of the projects will be available for review at the call. The films will be presented at the public screening event "I Dream in Widescreen" at the Fox Theatre in May 2011 and then go on the film
festival circuit.
