Beowulf’s 10th Anniversary

PARTAY!

Never mind our spelling issues with “party.” We’re going to have us some fun.

Friday, July 1st

11 S 6th Avenue on the corner of 6th and Congress

Beowulf Alley Theatre invites you to an afternoon and evening of light snacks, beverages, music and monkeyshines as we celebrate our tenth anniversary the way theatre people do – with passion and by staying up too late and saying crazy things. We’re ten years old and we’re going to act like it. It’s been one crazy ride from Lone Star to Beauty Queen, but we made it. And you made it with us.

This year we’re announcing a new way we’ll be picking our seasons and an unprecedented opportunity for everyone to be involved. Know of a play you’d like us to consider? Bring it on down Friday, July 1st and our Artistic Development Committee will consider all suggestions. Yes, we’ll read the whole script. We’ll be accepting suggestions and proposals until September 1st

Similarly there will be new opportunities for playwrights and composers/librettists. We’ll be announcing some shocking and exciting programs and initiatives while simultaneously having a good time. Beowulf Alley would like to say thank you with a toast.

From 2 pm to 6 pm, start by enjoying an afternoon of theatre tours and a gallery opening of The Drawing Studio’s presentation of Andrew Rush’s Tucson Cultural Covers 1977-1984. Rush was commissioned by a unique joint effort of the Arizona Theatre Company, the Tucson Symphony, the Arizona Opera, and UA Presents to promote a greater interest in Tucson's professional arts. There are a limited number of each of these reasonably priced giclees for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to both The Drawing Studio and Beowulf Alley Theatre. Andy Rush will be at the theatre for questions and conversation from 4pm to 6pm.

Plus . . .

Then between 6:00pm and 11:00pm, celebrate hard-won longevity and future hijinks. Bring a play or a résumé you’d like us to consider. Join us as we celebrate you, the theatre, Beowulf, and the Tucson arts community. It’s just like a cast party without all that rehearsing and performing to go in front of it. Thank you for ten years!
