Tucson, Arizona – Pima Community College Music presents Patrick Lawrence on alto, tenor and bass trombone with Michael Dauphinais playing piano. The program includes “Konzert fur Posaune” by Wagenseil, “Sonata for Trombone” by Ewazen, “Four Serious Songs” by Brahms, and “Sonata for Bass Trombone” by McCarty.


Lawrence moved from his native Canada to the desert southwest in 1999. He completed his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Arizona State University in 2009. His dissertation, “Solo Literature for Trombone and Organ,” is in the process of being published. Lawrence also holds a Master of Music Degree from the University of Arizona, and bachelor degrees in Secondary Music Education and Performance from the University of Mary. Lawrence served as the acting second trombonist with the Tucson Symphony for the 2007-08 season. He played recitals and appeared as a guest soloist in the United States and Canada and spent a year working as a trombonist and arranger for Norwegian Cruise Lines. Lawrence teaches band and orchestra at Sierra Middle School in Sunnyside Unified School District. He is a member of the International Trombone Association, the College Music Society and MENC.
 
The Patrick Lawrence Trombone recital is open to the public. Tickets are available at the Center for the Arts box office, located on West Campus at 2202 West Anklam Road, Tucson, (just west of downtown and I-10 on St. Mary’s Road which turns into Anklam Road). Box office hours are Tuesday-Friday, noon-5 p.m. and one hour prior to performance.
