Arizona Opera Internships Available in Development and Marketing

Arizona Opera Internship: Arizona Opera seeks intern(s) to assist full-time staff members with a variety of fundraising and administrative tasks, including but not limited to: mailings and donor communications, special events, research and other clerical duties. Three to six month commitment desired. Regular office hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., however intern hours are flexible. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Applicants should be working towards or have completed a degree with an arts or non-profit focus and have future career interests in Development and/or Arts Administration.

Development:


Grants

  • Assist grant writer in researching Foundation/Corporation relationship history and Grant qualifications
  • Sort through grant files and create summaries for each file

Annual fund

  • Assist in mailing acknowledgment letters twice a week
  • Conduct prospect research
  • General filing


Marketing:

Assist in launch of Young Opera Goers program

  • Branding, benefits, activities and events

Assist in maintenance of AZO’s Social Media 

  • Gathering questionnaires and posts from Artists for AZO Blog
  • Gathering fun facts about upcoming season and the company

Candidates must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, the ability to work independently as well as with a team, extremely detail oriented with precise results, and show discretion, maturity and composure. Experience or interest in working in a performing arts or nonprofit setting and a knowledge of opera, music or the performing arts is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and the Internet required. This un-paid internship is available for college credit. AZO is now accepting applications for Summer, Winter and Spring.
