Catalina Pages On Stage presents

Christmas Break

by Monica Bauer

Lilly comes home for Christmas break from her freshman year at college, "woke" to the issue of world hunger. A daughter's Christmas hunger strike, a Dad who refuses to let anything spoil his Christmas, a Mom struggling with hot flashes, a son trying to come out of a closet he was never in, a monk about to become homeless, and the fate of a golden retriever makes a comic play about liberal guilt for our times.

Performances/Tickets

Performances start at 7:00 p.m. on December 5th and 6th, 2022, at Mountain Vista Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 3235 West Orange Grove Road in Tucson, Arizona. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets are $10 at the door and 20 percent of box office sales will benefit Contigo, a multifaith social justice ministry serving the needs of asylum seekers legally requesting help in getting released from detention and settled in Tucson, Arizona.

Featuring Gabriella de Brequet, Maria Caprile, Tony Caprile, Trystan Garcia, Chad Davies, and C.J. Barbosa. Directed by Molly Lyons.

Arizona Onstage Productions presents WHO'S HOLIDAY!

Subject: WHO'S HOLIDAY - Press Release - Arizona Onstage Productions

WHO'S HOLIDAY!

Presented by Arizona Onstage Productions

Tickets start at $20. Go to www.arizonaonstage.org  for tickets and more information.

Five performances only December 15-18th Cabaret Space Temple of Music and Art - 330 South Scott Ave.

Written by Matthew Lombardo, featuring Samantha Cormier as Cindy Lou Who. Directed by Kevin Johnson

This wildly irreverent solo show is a heartfelt holiday parody that looks at the life of a grown-up Cindy Lou Who. Starring Tucson favorite Samantha Cormier.

A middle-aged Cindy Lou Who, now residing in a beaten-down trailer in the snowy hills of Mount Crumpit, is about to host a Christmas Eve party for her friends. As she prepares, she recalls from her own perspective that fated night when she first met the Grinch, and the strange turn of events her life has taken for the past 40 years.

What the critics say:

"Spoken entirely in rhyming couplets, is a comic tour de force." —Carey Purcell, The Village Voice

"The funniest Christmas show in town!" —BroadwayBox"

"A raunchy riff on Dr Seuss's yuletide tale … The little tyke has become a bottle-blonde adult who spends her days in a trailer appointed with Airstream functionality and seasonal kitsch … brassy, very funny … a holiday offering that dirties up Christmas while ultimately reveling in its spirit." —Elisabeth Vincentelli, New York Times

"This irreverent, adults-only sequel … dares to be as tasteless as possible while replicating Seuss's trademark rhythms … flawless … juggling comedy, musical interludes, and audience interaction." —Regina Robbins, Time Out New York

WHO'S HOLIDAY runs 70 minutes with no intermission. The bar/lounge will be open before each performance.

12/15 7pm preview – all seats $20

12/16 7pm

12/17 4pm and 7pm

12/18 2pm (possible 5pm show)

An original work of visual theatre created by Theatre Studies students in collaboration with physical theatre creator Wolfe BowartVaud is inspired by the colorful world of the American Vaudeville circuit of the turn of the 20th century and the culture that grew up around it – the costumes, the boarding houses, the travel, the stages and the rich and complex cultural diversity. The 11th Tucson Fringe Festival
Jan 19-22, 2023

It's been a while since we've sent out anything and I wanted to remind you all about our upcoming festival. Some of you may have already seen some of the information on our website. We currently have the venue information and the most current show schedule posted. You can check that out on our Tucson Fringe 2023 page. We are still finalizing some show details so we will have show descriptions posted on the website soon. Multi-ticket passes will go on sale on December 2, this Friday. Individual show tickets will not go on sale until January 2, 2023.
This Year: buttons are included in the ticket and pass prices.

Something else we are trying this year is offering a donation option on each show's ticket page. If perhaps you cannot attend any in-person shows, you can still send a donation 100% of which will be sent to that artist. You can also donate to us, Tucson Fringe, on the multi-ticket pass purchase page. As tomorrow, Nov 29, is Giving Tuesday, if you are so inclined, you can donate to Tucson Fringe; we are a 501(c)3 nonprofit. We'll provide you with a few donation options at the bottom of this newsletter.

Also, if anyone living in Tucson is willing to host an out-of-town guest artist, we are still in need of a few beds. If you are interested in hosting someone (you'll get a free pass to the entire festival and a discounted t-shirt), please send us an email to tucsonfringe@gmail.com. Thank you all for your support over the years and we look forward to seeing all of you in January.
