Tucson: Beowulf Alley Theatre Halloween Weekend

Netherbeast Incorporated, by Phoenix’s Ronalds Brothers,

Showing at Beowulf Alley Theatre Company Halloween Weekend

The uproarious monster comedy, Netherbeast Incorporated, by Phoenix director/producer team, brothers Dean and Brian Ronalds, will be shown Halloween weekend at the Beowulf Alley Theatre Company (www.beowulfalley.org) in downtown Tucson, as the next installment of IndeFliks@theAlley, in partnership with the Independent Film Association of Southern Arizona (www.ifasa.net).

NETHERBEAST INCORPORATED

Saturday, October 31, 9:00 PM

Sunday, November 1, 7:00 PM

Beowulf Alley Theatre Company

11 S. 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ

Admission - $5

Dean and Brian Ronalds were the Phoenix Film Foundation 2005 Arizona Filmmakers of the Year.  They teamed with writer Bruce Dellis, the 2006 Arizona Filmmaker of the Year, on the award-winning short film, The Netherbeast of Berm-Tech Industries, Inc., which was the basis for the feature Netherbeast Incorporated.

The star-studded cast includes Darrell Hammond (Saturday Night Live), Judd Nelson (The Breakfast Club), Amy Davidson (8 Simple Rules), Dave Foley (NewsRadio, Will & Grace), Jason Mewes (Clerks I & II, Zack and Miri Make a Porno), Steve Burns (Blue’s Clues), and Robert Wagner (Austin Powers), along with many Arizona actors and crew.

Netherbeast Incorporated is an offbeat, hilarious comedy with a quirky twist on the vampire tale, set in modern day corporate America.  Employees of Berm-Tech Industries, Inc. have kept the family secret for a long time.  For years, it has been business as usual, until the top vampire in charge contracts a dreaded disease, becomes senile, forgetting that he's a vampire, and starts killing off other vampire colleagues.  A human efficiency expert and "Dead Mike's" replacement are invited to work at Berm-Tech, but soon they discover that some of their associates are not what they appear to be.

The film was an official selection of about 20 film festivals, including Tribeca, Shriekfest, AFI Dallas, Phoenix, Sci-Fi-London, Toronto After Dark, and the International Horror & Sci-Fi Film Festival.

For more information call Brian McLaughlin at 520-349-8249 or email at mclaff9@earthlink.net.  See also www.netherbeastmovie.com

Tusson: Casting Call, VERY TALL, VERY LARGE people, Feature Film trailer

We need the Tallest and largest people in Tucson (Tucson)

Date: 2009-10-29, 10:53AM MST
Reply to: haskellfilmz@yahoo.com

HASKELLFILMZ is casting for the trailer for our new Feature Film. We need VERY TALL, VERY LARGE people to fill some rolls. We will be posting soon for other characters needed but first..... We need the largest people, Tallest people in Arizona for this film. (Proportionate - not extremely overweight - Huge bodybuilders ok but not necessary.) We will need a lot of huge people for the actual film(Aprox 20 to 30 people), but we only need a couple to film the trailer, so please give us your info even if you can't make the first try-outs! Do you even know someone like this? Tell them to contact us! On our last film (Finding BC) we didn't pay the actors because we couldn't, but hopefully they will get some recognition. (PEOPLE INVOLVED IN "FINDING BC The Biker Chick" CAN E-MAIL ME TO GET THEIR COPY OF THE FILM) For this trailer we decided that we want EVERYONE in on a percentage. Meaning that anyone that doesn't believe in the idea or script being a success, we really don't want them on the set! I know this movie will be a success and I want everyone to be paid WELL after the movie is a success! What a great set to be on, everyone working toward one goal, doing their best! We do have some funding and when we begin filming the movie, Not the Trailer, we will pay a small amount to Main Actors and crew as well ($50-$100 a day) just to cover expenses of showing up basically. Otherwise all crew members and Actors/Actress' will get a percentage of the final take.......which will be a lot! Show up to auditions and you will hear about the movie! You will understand! Always Follow your Passion!

  • Location: Tucson
  • it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
  • Compensation: no pay

Tucson: Producers, stage and screen, please tell us who you are

Dear TTA List Members,

A recent email from a TTA List Member raised some good points about posting announcements for auditions and casting calls including, “Please tell us who you are! Why not include your names, websites, resumes, projects completed, names of awards?”.  Because the TTA listserv is not intended to be a discussion board, I’ve posted the email to the TTA Discussion Board at http://groups.google.com/group/tta-list-discussion.  This is a place where everyone can add their thoughts and comments.

I have also started a thread called, “Producers, stage and screen, tell us who you are.”  If you produce stage productions, dance or film, please tell us about yourself and your company by replying to the tread at http://groups.google.com/group/tta-list-discussion/browse_thread/thread/be814b7fb2a04f1c.  We could start a useful directory for the Tucson community.

Best Regards,

Tucson: Casting Call, Teaser/Trailer for feature length film - paid

Casting female role in Teaser/Trailer for feature length film ($) (Downtown Tucson)

Date: 2009-10-28, 9:24PM MST
Reply to: skygatepictures@gmail.com

Yes, there is pay available. Read on. :)

About Us:
We are an award winning production team that is going to be shooting in Tucson on November 2nd and 3rd getting footage for a promotional teaser trailer for our next feature length film.

About you:
You are a thin, attractive Caucasian female, preferably with blonde, strawberry blonde, or light brown hair. You are able to pass for someone between the ages of 20-27. You are fun and relaxed and like meeting and working with different people. You have at least three, but no more than five CURRENT photographs (these do not have to be professional "headshots", but please make sure that they are in focus) with at least one full length body shot and a close up of your face and one profile picture. You do not need to have experience acting for the camera, but at least a healthy curiosity about trying it. You have to be professional, as in serious. We are all professionals and we expect that whoever is going to be working with us to treat us with the same level of courtesy and respect that we will show to you.

About the role:
There are actually only going to be between two to three shots involving your character and there are no lines to be spoken. This is about having the right look, and being able to convey a mood without saying a word. Acting, if you will. ;)
This will be an easy shoot and a great opportunity to network with professionals that work in Tucson, Phoenix, Los Angeles and Mexico. Don't forget this business is all about "knowing people".

About the compensation:
We are all working at a discount on this teaser because we believe in the project. That means, we are all taking pay cuts now for a potentially larger pay day later. Your compensation will be between $50 and $100 depending on the shots that we are able to get. The shots vary from standing behind a bar, to a close up of a hand dripping blood, to a high angle full body (no nudity) shot in a bloody bathtub. (Oh yeah, this isn't a Disney film) Depending on your comfort level the pay will adjust accordingly. The shoot will last the better part of a day, but it will be one of the easiest, and most fun, $100 you'll ever make. When you add that to the lifelong friends you'll make, you'll want to pay us! :)

If you think you meet the criteria:
Please send the 3 to 5 current photos (full length body shot, face close up, profile shot) and a little about yourself to skygatepictures@gmail.com and we will contact you right away. Thank you for your time and have a great day!

  • Location: Downtown Tucson
  • it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
  • Compensation: $50 to $100

Tucson’s Proposition 200 - The Public Safety First Initiative

On November 3 city voters will be asked whether the Tucson’s City Charter should be amended to prescribe mandatory minimum staff levels for police officers and mandatory minimum response times for the Fire Department. This is an unfunded mandate that has the potential to impact other services generally; inasmuch no funding source has been included in the proposition. To learn more about the initiative and its impact on city government, which may result in the layoff of 343 FT city employees, the elimination of non-mandated services such as the Parks and Recreation Department, or the elimination of support for Outside Agencies (e.g. TPAC, Job Path, The Humane Society, The Tucson Gem and Mineral Society, El Tour de Tucson; Our Family Services) see the following:

Tucson: Casting Call, Matrix-like extras needed Nov 1st

From: ALAN WILLIAMS [mailto:bigduke6@q.com]
Sent: Wednesday, October 28, 2009 3:11 PM
Subject: Matrix-like extras needed Nov 1st

We are looking for as many extras as possible to dress in black business suits or black trench coats and sunglasses. (Think The Matrix.)

You will be members of a secret cult chasing two other characters through an empty down town street. It's one, maybe two takes shot from several stories above looking down onto the street. It's easy, will be fun, and take maybe an hour, tops.

Appropriately attired extras are gathering outside Artfare, at 51 N 6th Ave on Sunday, Nov 1st at 8am. Yes, 8 am. We need to shoot that early on a Sunday to ensure that there are no other pedestrians or vehicles. We're going for surreal, empty streets. But remember, we get the shot and everybody is free to go within an hour, knowing they are part of cinematic history!........okay, local cinematic history.

Any questions can be directed to bigduke6@q.com. Please put "Peter Gabriel is God" in the subject line.

Thank you!

Tucson: CRITICAL FUNDING INITIATIVE MEETING

CRITICAL FUNDING INITIATIVE

FOR NATURE, ARTS, CULTURE, AND HERITAGE ORGANIZATIONS

Friday, November 6

10:00 am - 12:00 noon

Tucson Symphony Center

2175 North Sixth Avenue

Tucson, AZ   85705

Current economic conditions have made it clear that Arizona's arts and culture community needs a source of public funding that is stable and secure.

A team of advocates, including representatives of arts and culture organizations of all sizes from throughout the State, has been working to create a funding initiative to be placed on the Arizona general election ballot in November 2010.

IF SUCCESSFUL, THIS FUNDING STREAM WOULD GENERATE APPROXIMATELY $100 MILLION ANNUALLY, WHICH WOULD BE DISPERSED BY THE ARIZONA COMMISSION ON THE ARTS TO ALL QUALIFIED NATURE, ARTS, CULTURE, AND HERITAGE ORGANIZATIONS IN ARIZONA.

NACHOs (the executive directors of Tucson's Nature, Arts, Culture, & Heritage Organizations) and TPAC (Tucson Pima Arts Council) are co-sponsoring a meeting to discuss this initiative, what success will mean to our arts and culture community (and the State of Arizona), and what we need to do collectively to ensure it is approved by voters in November 2010.

As a critical supporter of ARTS AND CULTURE, you MUST attend this meeting.

We also encourage you to bring other influential and interested parties.

Please RSVP by November 5th to Martha Martell at mmartell@tucsonsymphony.org with the names of who will be attending.

On behalf of NACHOs  and TPAC, we look forward to sharing the details of this exciting, TRANSFORMATIVE, initiative for the good of the entire State of Arizona.

THANK YOU!!!
