Man of La Mancha is a musical with a book by Dale Wasserman, lyrics by Joe Darion and music by Mitch Leigh. It was inspired by Miguel de Cervantes's seventeenth century masterpiece, Don Quixote. It tells the story of the "mad" knight, Don Quixote, as a play within a play, performed by Cervantes and his fellow prisoners as he awaits a hearing with the Spanish Inquisition.

The original 1965 Broadway production ran for 2,328 performances and won five Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The musical has been revived four times on Broadway, becoming one of the most enduring works of musical theatre. The signature song, "The Impossible Dream", became a standard.

A Tucson Independence Day tradition continues.

On March 12, 1933, Franklin Roosevelt took to the airwaves at the height of the banking crisis to talk to the American people. His goal was to urge the populace to have faith in the banking system and support his New Deal measures. This was the first in a series of 30 "Fireside Chats."

The "Fireside Chats" covered topics such as the Declaration of War with Japan, the US economic conditions, the Work Relief Program and the progress of the war. He used a simple and direct conversational style that connected strongly with the American people. He continued the "chats" until June 12, 1944.

First performed on July 4th 2007, James Gooden has constructed a show based on these "Fireside Chats." Interwoven with personal anecdotes, he reveals the wit and wisdom of our 32nd president. The result is a show filled with history, nostalgia, humor and patriotism, the perfect fair for the 4th of July weekend.

Featured performers in "The Fireside Chats with FDR" are James Gooden and Elizabeth Gooden.

The show lasts two hours. There is a fifteen-minute intermission. The Comedy Playhouse has lit, adjacent parking.

Come for the history of it! Come for the fun of it!

A unique and imaginative theatre piece which, in the words of the author, "needs no theatre."

Andrew Makepeace Ladd, III and Melissa Gardner, both born to wealth and position, are childhood friends, whose lifelong correspondence begins with simple birthday cards
and camp postcards.

This evocative, touching, frequently funny pair of character studies tells of the bond between two friends
(performed by two real-life old friends) with an ending that makes it eloquently clear how much these two really meant and gave to one another over the many years - physically apart, perhaps, but spiritually as close as only true lovers can be.

The show opens on Friday,  June 18, 2010

Show times are Friday, and Saturday
at 7:30, Sunday matinee at 3:00.

The problem is that she attracts men like flies and younger sister Avice never gets a second look. Money is starting to run low and Mama's stock portfolio isn't performing well.

It's Sadie's birthday and suitors are lining up. In the line, are a Captain, a Professor and a Stockbroker. Is romance in the air for Sadie, Margaret or Avice?

Hi All!  :)

We are needing several extras' to help us out with the Feature Film "Finley Wade" on Saturday, May 29th from 4:00pm 'till around 7:00pm--just 3 hours.  :)

It is a "funeral" scene, so we would need everyone to dress nice, though not overboard.  Business casual should be fine.

Compensation is Credit and a Copy--and our extreme gratitude for your help!!

Please contact:  Rosie Z. via E-mail at:  rosiezwaduk@gmail.com

Thanks!!

Cheerz!

Rosie Z.  :-)
