Casting Call, Short Film, "Ten Unanswerable Questions"

From: Chris [mailto:ninebuddhas@gmail.com]
Sent: Saturday, February 28, 2015 2:28 PM
Subject: Script for Ten Unanswerable Questions

Script: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9iSbuw6KMZlelpYX2IzRzFqbWs/view?usp=sharing

Attached is the script for Ten Unanswerable Questions, a short narrative comedy, that we will be filming on Monday evening at CoLab, 17 East Pennington, in Downtown Tucson starting at 7 PM.  We will stagger actor call times (7 PM, 8 PM, 9 PM, and 10 PM) in our loving effort to minimize unnecessary waiting around on set.

We are shooting two different films on Monday evening.  In total we are seeking actors for 20 short roles.  Most roles are not gender specific and we are looking for all ages (over 18), shapes, sizes and experience levels.

Take a look at the script.  Let me know if you are interested in being a part of it.  If you are, send me a headshot or photo and send a resume or tell me a little bit about yourself -- are you 18 or 80, tall or short, stunningly good looking or maybe a little funny looking.  For this film, we want all of the above  -- but knowing which demographics you fall into does facilitate casting.

If you want in, send an e-mail saying "I want in" to Chris Raboin at ninebuddhas@gmail.com.  If you have a preference regarding an early or late call time -- let me know.  If you have a preference regarding a role or roles, let me know.  I will return with a call time and suggestions regarding wardrobe.

This is a great film.  I hope you want to be a part of it.

Chris Raboin

LOOKING FOR ACTORS!!!

I am a student director creating a short film. I have posted about this film here before and would like to reaffirm that I am looking for actors (volunteers- this is unpaid). The film is quite short, so most parts will be small. Furthermore, filming will take place over the next couple months; we will work with actors to schedule filming dates.

The characters are students.

Characters

David: unusually thoughtful, wants to be close to someone

Lynn: intelligent girl, outgoing, a little flirty but genuine

Dillan: "the slangy one"; says it how it is

Ethan: more thoughtful than Dillan and sincere; also intelligent, usually

Olivia: cute girl, Davi-d's girlfriend within the scene she plays

Chelsea: cute outgoing girl who thinks David is "cute"

Aly: shy in some ways, but easily getting close to someone

Contact me at haroldgrey3@gmail.com if you are interested, to schedule an audition. I look forward to working with you.

March 2015 Discount on Comedy Improv at The Studio for Actors

Sent: Wednesday, February 25, 2015 2:44 PM
Subject: Announcement: March 2015 Discount on Comedy Improv at The Studio for Actors

Taste of Improv Class

The Studio for Actors is now offering a "Taste of Improv Class." Here's how it works. Just come on one Wednesday night from 6:30pm-8:00pm for only $30. This class is normally $40, but for the evenings of March 11 or March 25, you can attend for $30 for one class only, and see how much you love studying improv at The Studio. So, if you've always wondered (or if you've never wondered) if you would enjoy comedy improv, this is your chance to check it out.

Call (520) 881-2363 to sign up.  To qualify for the discounted price, you must say the words "Taste of Improv Class" when you call.

* Limit one $30 class per person.

Comedy Improvisation

You don't have to be a funny person to love and get a lot out of a comedy improv class. I can make you funny. Because you have to focus in this class, you can end up taking a vacation from the stuff that goes on in your life, and there's a lot of healing with laughter. Your coach is a former Saturday Night Live cast member, and will give you the accents and the formats you can use as a "safety net." Improv is a great stress reliever and really encourages the ability to verbally communicate. So, come, play, have a ball, and enjoy releasing your own special creativity.

Also, for students of acting, improv enhances your auditions, loosens up the body, helps you think fast on your feet, introduces dialects, and sharpens your timing.4 consecutive Wednesday nights

6:30pm-8:00pm
Start on any Wednesday (but you should call first to sign up).
$40 per week
Don't worry if you have to miss one or even two of the four classes. You simply pay for the class you have to miss and then take class #5 free.  It's even possible to pay $160 at your first class, and then take your last three classes whenever you can make it. (I keep great records.)

To find out more or to sign up, please call Anna Risley at (520) 881-2363.

Also being offered at The Studio for Actors:
Radio/TV Voiceover Seminar
Audition Technique

Each of these classes is taught by Anna Risley at her Studio (The Studio for Actors), located on 6th Street, just off 4th Avenue.  Anna has 30 years of experience in film, television, voiceover, and stage acting.   To check out her resume, please visit The Studio for Actors website , or call her at (520) 881-2363 to sign up.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Live Theatre Workshop proudly presents a free staged reading…

My Life in Sports

An original play written and performed by

Bill Epstein

Details:

Bill Epstein's My Life in Sports is a one-man performance piece, a dramatic memoir or

"memory play" (Tennessee Williams' term for a narrated theater piece based on the

playwright's own life) about identity, masculinity, and sports. Using sports as a lens

through which to reflect on an American boyhood and manhood spanning the last half of

the twentieth century, Epstein's nostalgic and poignant, comic and serious memories

ultimately cohere into, of all things, a love story, a beautiful and devastating love story

about how he lost his wife and became a man, and about how, as the sun's shadow

creeps inexorably across the field, he is learning to live with himself.
Presented as a

free staged reading as part of Live Theatre Workshop's Readers Theatre program.

Free.

Donations appreciated.
