Rogue actors will be performing a staged reading of George Bernard Shaw's intriguing play about women's roles in Victorian England in Mrs. Warren's Profession this Sunday, December 4 at 2:00 p.m.

George Bernard Shaw was the leading dramatist of his generation, and in 1925 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. Since his death, he has regularly been rated as second only to William Shakespeare among English-language dramatists.

People have told us that seeing one of our staged play-readings is as good as seeing a fully produced production of the play--at less than half the price! Tickets are only $15 and are going quickly. Please join us if you can for this one-day-only performance.

Subject: Catch the beat! Music and Dance Concerts: Pima Community College Center for the Arts

PCC Dance
SIGNATURE SELECTIONS
December 9-10, Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. & 7:30 p.m.

Tickets: $10-$8- $5 students with ID

Directed by Nolan Kubota. The concert features new work in ballet, modern, jazz and theater dance. The dynamic program includes original pieces by dance faculty Nolan Kubota and Mirela Roza, along with several new student choreographed pieces.

"The piece that I'm the most excited about is a short ballet called Dearly Departed, said Kubota. "It features our advanced ballet dancers in a story about a young man in love with death. He doesn't realize that while he's declaring his feelings she's picking from her disciples (Poisoning, Drowning, Burning, Hanging, etc.) which death he'll suffer. It's set to a beautiful waltz."

Another new piece came about during the rehearsal process with the dance ensemble. Set to the song, Just a Gigolo by Louis Prima, the cast has undertaken a rather subdued jazz choreography while learning how to perform synchronized eating. "The dancers are always eating so I figured why fight it?" remarks Kubota.

Independent Film Arizona, Board Election and End of Year Party

From: Independent Film Arizona <news@independentfilmarizona.com>
Sent: Tuesday, November 29, 2016 12:10 PM

Independent Film Arizona - Tucson

"Board Election and End of Year Party"

IFA Monthly Membership Meeting: December 6th at 7pm, The Art Institute of Tucson, 5099 East Grant Road #100, Tucson
Open to the public

What is it?

Every year, Independent Film Arizona, IFA, elects their nonprofit governing board for the next year. We will be voting for both board officers and board members at-large. We announced this process at the November IFA membership meeting and requested for those interested in serving on the board to submit their name in advance – no later than November 30th- so we could have enough time to make the ballots.

To make this election flawless, even the current hard working Board members who wish to continue, have submitted their names to be part of the process.

Ballots will be provided for the attending members at this meeting to choose the next group of people who will guide Independent Film Arizona through the year 2017.

End of the year party will feature live music from Sol Peppers Band and delicious food.

The Director's Chair

As always we want to thank you for coming every month to be part of the vibrant Independent Film Arizona community.
Remember, IFA meetings are free and open to the public, but we also strongly encourage you to take the next step and become a member. For only $25.00 a year, you can be part of this amazing group of people who strive to help the independent Filmmakers of Southern Arizona. Academic memberships are also available for free for actively enrolled students.

My most sincere thanks to the Board of Directors who made this year possible:

Jeneiene Schaffer
Glenn Wolfgang
Matt Marine
Noreen O'shea
Audrey Gambach

It has been an amazing year at IFA. New members have come to join this family of filmmakers, actors and writes. New ideas are brewing for 2017!

As for me, serving as President in 2016, has been a very humble and rewarding experience. I will not be part of the Board in 2017, but I will remain close to the organization to provide, when needed, my experience and advice.

On Behalf Of The Board Of Directors, Happy Holidays Everyone!

You know that being on time is one of the keys to success, so we'll see you there at 7 PM.

Grísel Wilson
President Independent Film Arizona
