Winding Road Theater Ensemble 2020/2021 season: Twelve original plays for you

From: Winding Road Theater Ensemble <windingroadte@gmail.com>
Sent: Thursday, August 27, 2020 8:14 AM
Subject: Twelve original plays for you

Winding Road is pleased to announce our
2020/2021 season!

Season planning took some twists and turns this summer, but in the end we chose to return to our roots, and mount an all-original season, honoring our mission. To continue bringing you dynamic, theatrical stories, every play in our upcoming season is an intriguing, inspiring, unpublished script, including an offering by founding member Toni Press-Coffman, an original adaptation of the works of Shakespeare, and a beautiful new play exploring themes of race and connection, featuring American Sign Language.

Ours will be an all-digital season, performed using social distancing to keep everyone safe. After researching various platforms, Winding Road has contracted with the streaming service On the Stage to provide our audiences with simplified ticketing and streaming of our entire season.
(I promise you, signing on to see the show will be simple enough for the least tech-savvy among us!)

This is all new, to you and to us. We learned a lot while creating our Eight 10's play festival, but mounting a season of ticketed offerings online is uncharted territory. After much discussion, we are offering just one $99 season ticket package, crafted to provide you admission to all five shows in the season with a little extra to assist us in bringing our work to the public.  Your season ticket supports both theater artists and playwrights as we navigate these challenging times together.

While our summer play festival, Eight 10s in Tucson, is still available to watch until August 31st, we're already hard at work in rehearsal for our opening show, presented by an exciting cast of eight Tucson actors. We can't wait to share it with you!

As artists, it is our passion and our purpose to create. We're thrilled to be able to offer a safe, affordable theater experience to all. Click here to see the full list of plays for this season, but know that we still have a project or two up our sleeves to be announced later! Please join us for our first online season so that we can share the gift of theater until it's safe for us to be together in the dark again!

Dear ZUZI! Family,

We are excited to be welcoming you back into the studio and we are looking forward to your return in a safe and healthy way!

ZUZI! Dance has some great news! In September, we will be transitioning into a new space with a new dance floor! This new space is STUDIO Y, located 1.5 blocks from the Historic Y and home of the old Balfour Photography Studio. STUDIO Y is owned by our wonderful landlord, Shawn Burke. Our goal is to begin classes at this location for the Fall session in October!

This is a time full of new beginnings. Let us take it as an invitation to relearn how to navigate through these rapidly changing times. We are learning how to "be" in the new normal. We are learning a new way to relate to each other, to the world, and have been given an opportunity to positively transform worn out patterns of thinking and being. ZUZI! Dance remains hopeful and we look forward to growing together in this new journey with our dedicated students, parents, collaborators and friends.

In this journey, we are dedicated to offering classes in the best way possible. We will diligently strive to maintain a healthy and safe environment, where our community can learn and play together. You can view our guidelines and requirements for in-person classes.
