Position Title: Lighting Designer (Temporary, Part-Time)

Department: West Campus - Performing Arts

Rate of Pay: $1,200.00 per production

Closed Date: July 15, 2025; 5:00PM Arizona Time

 

Position Summary:

The lighting designer is responsible for the designs for all lighting elements of a theatrical production.

Position Dates: Sept 1, 2025 - Oct 16, 2025

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create and communicate a design that integrates the needs of the production, the vision of the director, and the technology of the space
• Create light plots, instrument schedules, cue sheets, and other documentation
• Oversee the hang and focus of all lighting and projection equipment
• Closely collaborate with director and other designers to integrate the lighting design with other artistic and technical elements of the production

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Have previous light designing experience
• Be able to facilitate hang, focus, cue programming, LED instrument programming, and moving light programming

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• LED instrument programming, and moving light programming
• Be able to set up still image or video projections
• Experience with various lighting boards

Physical Requirements:

Positions in this class typically require: talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
