ABOUT THE SHOW

Dear Evan Hansen is a deeply personal and profoundly contemporary musical that explores the need for human connection in today's noisy, fast-paced society. It follows Evan, an adolescent who struggles with social anxiety disorder. When a sudden death shocks the community, it thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy — a letter meant to stay private, a truth that was never supposed to come to light, a life he never imagined possible. Evan Hansen is on the verge of getting the one thing he's always desired: a chance to truly belong.

Content Guidance — PG-13: Intense emotional themes, discussions of suicide methods, bullying, drug (prescription medication) and alcohol use, severe anxiety and grief, references to sexual acts and teenage kissing, and moderate profanity.

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Pima Community College is seeking a young actor to bring William Frankenstein to life on stage. This is a wonderful opportunity for a talented performer to be part of a full theatrical production in a supportive, professional college theatre environment.

PRODUCTION DETAILS

Role:  William Frankenstein (younger brother of Victor)

Age range:  10–12 years old

Performance run:  Last two weeks of October

Venue:  Pima Community College — West Campus

Rehearsals:  Held at PCC West Campus; schedule provided upon casting

About Steps Forward Loved by our artists and audiences alike, Steps Forward is Ballet Tucson's annual choreographers' showcase — featuring 8 brand-new world premieres created by current Ballet Tucson company members for their fellow dancers. This one-night-only collection highlights the company apprentices and offers vital career development and transition support for our dancers — allowing them to explore their creativity and artistic potential as choreographers. At the end of the evening, audience members vote for their favorite work. The winning piece receives an encore presentation on the Ballet Tucson mainstage later in the season! After the show, hear from the choreographers themselves in a special post-show Q&A moderated by Artistic Director Margaret Mullin.

 

8 World Premieres All new works choreographed by Ballet Tucson company dancers — performed on the Berger Performing Arts Center stage for the first time anywhere.

You Choose the Encore Audience members vote for their favorite world premiere. The winning work receives an encore presentation on the Ballet Tucson mainstage later in the 2026-27 season.

Post-Show Q&A After the performance, the choreographers join Artistic Director Margaret Mullin on stage for an exclusive conversation about their creative process and inspirations.

Ballet Tucson — 40th Anniversary Season

40th Anniversary Season Ballet Tucson's 2026-27 season celebrates 40 years of Southern Arizona's only professional ballet company. Under Artistic Director Margaret Mullin, the season embraces the future as much as the milestone — featuring two world premieres, company premieres of works by George Balanchine, Justin Peck, and Andrea Schermoly, and the return of audience favorite Spirit Garden. Steps Forward opens the season on September 11, followed by Spirit Garden (Oct 23-25), The Nutcracker (Dec 18-20), Carmen (Feb 26-28, 2027), and Appalachian Spring (Apr 9-11, 2027).

About Ballet Tucson Tucson's professional ballet company since 1986. Ballet Tucson produces fully staged performances featuring company dancers, education programming through the School of Ballet Tucson, and community engagement across Southern Arizona.
