Parking: Theatregoers may park in the Park Avenue Garage, located on Park Ave. just north of Speedway Blvd.  For weekday evening performances, you can pre-pay for parking.  Monday through Friday, 5 p.m. to midnight, take your parking ticket immediately to the garage cashier after parking.  Cashier is located on the east side of the main level.  Parking fee will be $3 (cash only).  After the performance, insert the parking ticket at the gate to exit.  Saturday and Sunday there is no charge to park.

Little Angels is a family-friendly event acknowledging and celebrating deceased loved ones from the perspective of the child. Children participate in art activities such as wing-making and decorating, face painting, sugar skull decorating, story telling, and theater. Finale workshops are offered so that the children can participate in their own Procession/Finale-Spectacle. Angels on stilts lead the children on a procession around the Downtown public square to the finale stage area, where artists present a live performance-spectacle.

 

The public is invited to bring photos and drawings of their children’s deceased loved ones: pets, family and friends. We will scan them on site and project them large on the library wall. Bring a candle in a container to illuminate the children’s procession as the sun sets.

Following the Little Angels Finale, the Spoken Word Soul Poetry begins…

We are still in need of a few positions for yoga class scenes.
Dramatic feature film wrapping up principle photography within these next few weeks.

*Whether or not you have basic Yoga skills (NOT IMPERATIVE FOR CASTING)
*Can you hold unique/interesting/impressive poses which would be showcased in a scene?

We need people for as little as 30 mins, and as much as 2 or 3 multi-hour shoot days. AND ANYWHERE IN BETWEEN.
That is to say: If you're only available for an hour 1 day, you could still definitely be in a scene in the movie.
Looking for people at various times, with focus on the Thur/Fri/Sat/Sun/Mondays in the upcoming weeks.

Several of the extras/actors will also double as crew (helping light for Special Effects shots when off camera, etc). Let me know if you'd be interested in these crew tasks as well.

Shoots have already been scheduled, so if you're interested, please respond immediately.

This is a non-paying gig.
With those who give a large time commitment (such as all the 5 hour shooting days) or someone who has vast special effects shooting knowledge interested in helping out there: a deferred payment arrangement can certainly be discussed.

ETCETERA, Live Theatre Workshop’s Late-Night Series, is currently accepting submissions for it’s upcoming workshop production of The Penis Monologues. The intention is that the show be locally written by Tucson writers, via a submission process. Monologues (submit as many as you like) are being accepted now with a submission deadline of December 1^st, 2008. The Penis Monologues will be directed by Danielle Dryer and begins rehearsing in February for a run in March of 2009. If your monologue is chosen for the show, you will receive writing credit, comp tickets to the performance and a small stipend. Please include your full name and contact information with submissions. The only other criteria that the monologues need to meet is that the subject matter pertains to the male genitalia. Monologues may be written from any perspective, male or female, young or old, past or present or future. Keep in mind, the intention of this production IS NOT ANTI-FEMINIST OR ANTI-WOMAN OR ANTI-VAGINA MONOLOGUES. It is merely pro-penis. Writers are welcome and encouraged to perform, as well. Auditions will be held in January.

EL RIO THEATRE PROJECT PLANS 11 FREE SHAKESPEARE PERFORMANCES

Tucson Parks and Recreation's El Rio Theatre Project will present a series of 11 evening performances of Shakespeare's "Hamlet" to launch a second season of theater in the park.

Performances are scheduled for Sept. 25-28, Oct. 2-5 and Oct. 10-12 at the Himmel Park Outdoor Amphitheater, 1000 N. Tucson Blvd.

Performances are free to the public and begin at 7 p.m. Donations of $5 are suggested.

Attendees are encouraged to bring the family, a blanket and a picnic basket for an evening of theater in the park.

The popular tragedy recounts how Prince Hamlet exacts revenge on his Uncle Claudius, who has murdered Hamlet's father, taken the throne and married Hamlet's mother. The tragedy explores the themes of
treachery, grief, revenge and moral corruption.
