THIS WEEKEND: YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS SHOWCASES

YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS OF TUCSON SHOWCASE

Saturday, June 3rd at 2pm

Sunday, June 4th at 11am

Young Playwrights from our very own community submitted short plays in February. We awarded the top 6 playwrights the opportunity to workshop their scripts with Tucson's local professional playwrights. Not only do we have young talented playwrights, some of the best youth actors in town have been working hard to produce these shows with their mentors. This is an event for all ages and we hope you'll join us!

Come see Tucson's talented teens as they present

Why the Hell Would the Exit Sign Be In Swedish by Alex Cramton

Love In the Time of Other Things by Maddie Hill

The Milhouse Murder Mystery by Nathaniel Wiley

Mr. Collymore's Spontaneous Summer Vacation by Catherine Oda

The Mishap of a Missing Meldort: A D&D Story by Lin Clark

The Rumor: A Mystery Play by Genevieve Berry

"This is my favorite project of the year! Our community gets to see our young and talented writers, actors and technicians put this all together and the process is so amazing to witness." -Amanda Gremel, Director of Education

These productions will be presented on Live Theatre Workshop's Children's Theatre Stage. Tickets are $10.00 for children, $12.00 for adults.

"Live Theatre Workshop's production of Lungs shines in acting, directing..." -Arizona Daily Star

LUNGS

by Duncan MacMillan

Through June 10 on the Mainstage

In this brutally honest, intimate production, a young couple debates bringing a child into the world. Zooming in on the results of overpopulation and climate change, W and M's decision reaches well beyond their relationship, and laughter is the antidote to the stress around their big-picture questions. In Lungs, Duncan Macmillan successfully puts his finger on the pulse of the cultural and personal questions that are informing the life decisions of our young community members, and he does so through empathetic, jarring, and hilarious exchanges.
