Old Pueblo Playwrights 36^th Annual Play Festival

Audition Notice

 

The Old Pueblo Playwrights will be holding open auditions on Monday, January 6, 2025 for their annual New Play Festival.

 

The New Play Festival will be held at the Cabaret Theatre at The Temple of Music and Art from February 6^th to the 9^th.

 

Audition Information:

 

Auditions will be held on January 6, 2025, at St. Francis in the Foothills, 4625 E River Rd, Tucson, Classroom #50.

 

Sign-ups will begin at 6:00 pm with audition readings beginning at 6:30 pm.

 

Actors should prepare a two (2) minute reading or monologue.

 

A theatrical resume is not required but would be helpful. The following parts are to be cast:

 

Male Actors – Eight (8) roles ranging in age from mid-20's to early 70's.

Female Actors – Two (2) roles for age range of 50's to early 70's plus one (1) non-speaking role for a 20-25 year old.

There are no roles for children.

 

Festival Information:

 

Rehearsals will be scheduled by the Directors with approximately 2-3 rehearsals per play.

 

Festival performances will be on the evenings of February 6, 7, 8 and 9 with matinee performances on February 8 and 9.

 

There are 17 plays to be performed, including  three (3) full length,  three (3) one act, and eleven (11) short (10-15 minute) plays. Plays will be performed 'script in hand' with no memorization required. Each play will have a single performance in the Festival.

 

Actors will receive a small stipend with actors appearing in multiple plays receiving a maximum of two stipends.
