SCENE CONTEXT — LINES TO PREPARE

Scene Setting: Micheal and Mason are outside a dark alleyway at night. They have responded to an odd job posting online.

CHARACTER	LINE
MASON	Hey dude, I know that this pays 500 — but are you sure? This seems a little shad—
MICHEAL	Yes Mason. I'm sure he probably just needs a ditch dug or something. He seemed old in his post.
MASON	Old? How can you tell on a post if someone is old?
MICHEAL	Well like he started it with "To Whom It May Concern."
MASON	I don't think that means he's old.
MICHEAL	Oh yeah, totally a hip and young guy.
MASON	Well, like he just seems polite to me.
	(A black SUV pulls up playing music. Two men wave them over. Tension builds.)
MASON	Dude, I have a seriously bad feeling about this.
MICHEAL	(Dismissive) Just shut up — we're professionals. Relax.
	(The men open the trunk to reveal a rolled rug with a body inside.)

 

 

ABOUT THE PRODUCTION TEAM

 

Antonio Piccillo — Director/Producer Known as "Toto," Antonio is a prolific Tucson indie filmmaker who has written, directed, produced, and edited nearly 20 projects. His films have screened at the Loft Cinema's First Friday Shorts series, including award-winning work. He brings long tracking shots, naturalistic dialogue, and ambitious genre concepts to every project.

Wesley Peterson — Co-Director A collaborator in the Toto's Fun Time Studios circle, Peterson appeared in The Toto Doc (2025). Side Hustle marks his co-directing debut. The Toto's Fun Time Studios An active Tucson micro-studio producing comedy, mystery, sci-fi, and fantasy shorts distributed on YouTube and submitted to regional film festivals.

 

 

HOW TO SUBMIT

 

SELF-TAPE REQUIREMENTS • Length: 1–2 minutes maximum • Begin with a brief introduction (name, role reading for) • Read for MASON or MICHEAL (state your choice) • Clear audio and good lighting required • Clapboard/slate preferred if available
