One more advocacy task for the year: Please contact Governor Ducey

While most of us are in the midst of planning our holiday activities, there is one more important task to do as arts advocates. While the rest of us focus on finishing up our 2016 projects, the Governor and the State Legislature are already making plans or the new legislative session, including deciding what programs and activities will be included in the Fiscal Year 2018 budget they will need to pass next year.

Now is the time to make your voice heard. It is critical that you send a note now, before the holidays, asking Governor Ducey to include $2 million for the Arizona Commission on the Arts in his executive budget. He is working on it now, and he needs to hear from all of you.

We all know what a difference$1.5 million for the Arts Commission made to its ability to invest this year in arts organizations and working artists all over Arizona. A $2 million investment next year will carry on the work, AND bring the allocation very close to what it was before the Great Recession.

Please ACT NOW, and pass it on to your friends and colleagues. Many thanks.
