Job Description
Job Title: Stage Manager
Department: Operations
Reports To: Director of Operations
FLSA Status: Salaried - Exempt
Summary: ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Stage Manager at the Tucson Arena/Convention Center. Reports directly to the Director of Operations. The Stage Manager is responsible for the safe and successful production and technical execution of all live events taking place at the Tucson Music Hall and Leo Rich theatre.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Oversee theater technical needs.
- Primary venue point of contact for facility users in the planning, coordination, and execution of programs, services and events.
- Organize, schedule, manage, and train stagehands (from third party vendors or other sources), including tracking crew work hours.
- Build and maintain effective and proactive working relationships with local vendors and production companies.
- Responsible for care and maintenance of all facility's equipment including Leo Rich Theatre & Arena.
- Oversee the load-in, set up, and strike of theatrical lighting, sound, and overall stage set up for a variety of productions and events including musical acts, touring and local theatrical productions, and other productions.
- Provides accurate quotes to clients regarding prices for operational and labor services not specified in the contractual agreement.
- Assist technical department budgeting, expense, and capital expenditures.
- Develops standard operating procedures for the venue and venue equipment.
- Manage FOH and guest during events.
- Operate audio and/or lighting system when necessary or appropriate.
- Ensure safety standards are met and local, state, and federal guidelines are followed.
- Manage technical equipment inventory.
- Organize and maintain file system, data bases, equipment information.
- Advanced knowledge of fly rail systems and lighting consoles
- Advanced concepts of Rigging
- Ability to make decisions in a stressful environment and accommodate a flexible work schedule.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and Experience
- Two years of college with major course work related to stage management or equivalent subjects.
- At least 4 years roadhouse or touring experience or equivalent.
- Three years' experience in all aspects of stage management, including general familiarity of stage lighting, mechanics and sound requirements; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the capabilities to perform the described duties.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to recognize the organization, regulations, and procedures involved in the operation of the Arena, Theater & Convention Center stage functions.
- Principles and techniques of sound reinforcement, stage mechanics, and stage management.
- Be able to obtain stage requirements for various clients during shows and events.
- Know the electrical and sound companies in the area for the purpose of acquiring parts and equipment.
- Supervises and trains personnel in the maintenance and operations of Arena, Theater & Convention Center equipment.
- Design and execute detailed plans for system upgrading and use.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other employees, the public and users of the facilities.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the knowledge of Microsoft Office, Cad is a plus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
OSHA 30 is preferred
