Summer Scamp Camp is a fun filled theatrical summer experience recommended for students aged 8-13 who are looking to spend their last weeks of summer exercising their creativity through improv, movement, and storytelling. This summer camp is broken into two week-long sessions that each incorporate a fun and distinct aspect of theatre, and can be enjoyed independently or as a two-week arc!
Classes are capped at 15, and registrations are first come, first serve.
Scholarships are available, please inquire at office@scoundrelandscamp.org.
Note: We will require a minimum of 7 scamps registered in each week to run the class.
WEEK 1: IMPROVISATIONAL MOVEMENT & STORYTELLING
Students will spend this week diving into the wonderful world of improv! A world unscripted, improv utilizes core ideas of storytelling, comedy, and acting to create unique and fun performances that are never the same! Students will learn how to listen to each other (and the audience!), to tap into their creative impulses, and express themselves free of fear!
WEEK 2: THE WORLD OF MASQUE
This week, students explore the interesting and ancient world of masques (a.k.a. masks)! Working hands-on with masks to explore their power to transform you into anything you can imagine! Students will also get to make masks on their own! Students will create and develop their own unique mask that they will then work closely with and learn how much can be expressed while behind a mask!
Please read The Scoundrel & Scamp Class Policy prior to registration.
Either Week: $250
Both Weeks: $450
Registration and all materials included.
Students bring a water bottle and their own bag lunch. Snacks will be provided.
Following the recommendations of the CDC, all students and staff will be masked at all time while they are inside the building. During the day there will be times when camp activities will be outside (ie breaks, lunch, etc) and at those times students will be able to be unmasked as long as they remain socially distanced.
