Subject: Costume Stitcher/Assistant Needed

UA School of Dance is looking for a skilled stitcher/costume assistant to help with costumes for upcoming productions as an independent contractor.

Looking for someone with experience with: full garment construction on sewing machines, sergers, and sewing garments with more challenging fabrics like silk, velvet, and spandex.  Applicant preferably has experience with theatre and/or dance costumes.  We use industrial sewing machines, so experience with those is preferred, but not required as it's easy to learn if you are already proficient on a domestic sewing machine.

In addition to sewing, duties can also involve organizing/pulling costumes and wardrobe duties (depending on your availability/interests).

This is an over-hire independent contractor position (NOT UA employee), and hours can vary as projects arise throughout the school year.  Pay will be hourly rate based on experience.  Applicants must not already be a UA employee or student (university requirement for hiring independent contractors).

Applicant will need to be available to work in-person in the costume shop at the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre, between 10am-6pm M-F (those only available part time are welcome to apply as you do not need to be available all of those hours).

Please email Kristen Wheeler, Costume Shop Director, at krs10@arizona.edu with your resume to apply.
