Winding Road Theater Ensemble presents:
God Learns of the Death of Harambe, 2016 (colorized)
It's 2016, the year of Our Lord, when God learns that Their only begotten gorilla, Harambe, was killed by zoo personnel when a child wandered into his enclosure. And They're not happy about it. Alexander Perez's hilarious play depicts the moment when angels Gabriel and Michael have to deliver bad news to The Boss, who might just react by destroying all mankind. Again.
Alexander Perez is a Cuban-American Playwright/Cartoonist/Desk Jockey/Dad making it work in the Big Apple. Since 2015 his plays have been performed in NYC, London, Chicago, and beyond! Other recent productions include , Randy's Dandy Coaster Castle (Egg & Spoon Theatre Collective , A.R.T/NY. 2022), The In-Between (Pelmear Theatre, Drayton Arms Theatre, 2022). His play Randy's Dandy Coaster Castle and The Bad in Each Other were finalists for the 2022 SETC Ready to Publish Award and 2023 Downtown Urban Arts Festival respectively. He is also a current member of the Playground NY 22-23 Writer's Pool.
The Death of Harambe, 2016 (colorized) is directed by Richard 'Chomps' Thompson and features Kat McIntosh (THE BIG MEAL) and Ina Shivack (YOU HAVEN'T CHANGED A BIT) with Hayden Stagg and Steve Waite making their Winding Road debuts!
