Winding Road Theater Ensemble presents:
Closing Doors

"You didn't see his face. He was knocking on the door, trying to turn the handle. I took the paper off the glass and there he was, looking up at me. Crying."

When fourth grade teacher Sandra is called on the carpet for breaking protocol during an active shooter drill, Assistant Principal Valerie-an old friend-must weigh the value of friendship against their duty to security theater. This powerful exchange will have you on the edge of your seat!

John Minigan is a recent Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Fellow in Dramatic Writing. Tall Tales from Blackburn Tavern, commissioned by Gloucester Stage Company, will premiere in 2023, and his solo adaptation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow premiered at Greater Boston Stage Company in 2022. His Queen of Sad Mischance won the 2022 Judith Royer Award from The Kennedy Center/ATHE and Noir Hamlet was an EDGE Media Best of Boston Theater 2018 selection and a 2019 Elliot Norton nominee for Outstanding New Script. John is the Dramatists Guild Ambassador for the Boston region.

Closing Doors is directed by Ensemble member Gianbari Deebom and features Zuleyl Castro (CHILL) and Myani Watson  (KEEPING ABREAST).
