Live Theatre Workshop is holding auditions for an original musical!
Live Theatre Workshop (LTW) is hosting an open casting call for their Children’s Theatre program from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
More information here: https://livetheatreworkshop.org/get-involved/audition/
LTW is looking for a diverse group of actors who are bilingual in Spanish, can dance, sing, act, and have some daytime flexibility for a new musical written by Tucson’s very own Michael Martinez on our Children’s Theatre stage in late January of 2024. LTW is a Safe Place and ally who encourages people of all ethnicities, abilities, ages, and who identify as any gender to audition.
Roles Looking to Cast
(We are looking for actors who identify as listed genders and can play these age ranges.)
Bella: A young woman 18 – 30. Spanish/English bilingual. Bella, raised by her Nana, is an adventurous problem solver who approaches the world with the wonder for nature and a soft spoken kindness her nana has taught her. She is fierce beneath the surface and will fight for herself and others without hesitation.
Principle Godfrey/The Beast: Young man 18 – 30. English speaking. Godfrey is a spoiled prince who has been left great power and wealth, but also abandoned by his family. He is full of anger and sadness which has made him a loud bully. He has developed the power to take people’s voices from them as a way to make himself louder.
La Maga Fantastica: Any age and any gender. Spanish/English bilingual. La Maga is thrilled by their own magic. They have trouble getting their mouth to catch up with their brain, and may be a little over confident in their magical abilities. Flighty, silly, and forgetful, La Maga means to do good in the world, but gets distracted by the next shiniest thing.
Nana: Middle age or older woman. Spanish/English bilingual. Nana floats through the world quietly and chooses to express herself through movement and facial expressions more than words. A kind woman devoted to teaching her granddaughter about the whimsical delights of the world. She definitely wakes up before dawn to drink her café and make sure breakfast is ready for Bella the moment she awakes.
