Next Stage Theatre Southwest presents
Neil Labute's triple Tony Nominated
reasons to be pretty
Award winning playwright Neil Labute gives a razor-sharp look at our obsession with female beauty, and the places that obsession takes us. Greg, a warehouse worker, is overheard at a party saying his girlfriend Stephanie has an "ordinary" face, and out of that simple faux pas Labute constructs the gripping story of two working class couples and their breakups, betrayals, deceits, and confrontations. The play is filled with humor, passion and pathos, and what the New York Times calls "the freshest and most illuminating dialog to be heard anywhere these days."
Reasons is "a powerful and provocative drama that forces us to confront our own prejudices about beauty, a play that will stay with you long after the final curtain." (Washington Post) And Next Stage's production is a special one, starring four of the best actors working in Tucson today: Samantha Cormier, Taylor Rascher, Taige' Lauren and Lucas Gonzales. All cast in roles that fit them like a glove. At the Temple of Music and Art Cabaret November 3-19.
All Tickets $25, with discounts. www.nextstagesw.com or 520-907-7209
