In a quiet Pennsylvania farmhouse, Vanya and his adopted sister Sonia lead a dull, humdrum existence—until their glamorous, larger-than-life movie star sister Masha storms in with her boy toy Spike in tow. Add a soothsaying housekeeper and a neighborhood ingénue to the mix, and what follows is a wild ride of sibling rivalries, fading dreams, and over-the-top antics. Will Masha sell the family home? Jamie and Tommy, two brothers who share a cottage on the Cliffs of the Irish Sea. One morning Jamie makes an astonishing declaration. He announces that he is dead - and now a ghost. Tommy, naturally, is unconvinced and maintains that his brother's delusion is caused by the grief Jamie has suffered since their mother's death. With pathos and gentle humor, the brothers explore a trail of unexpressed love, grief, guilt, and forgiveness, and within everyday events and their nostalgic memories, which are as ordinary as all our memories, they discover the eternal exists in their fraternal bond.
