Subject: Final Call for Sierra Vista Shoot This Sunday, the 12th
To Our Acting Community,
There was some confusion (we were asked if the shoot was on the Douglas campus; no, Sierra Vista), so we'll do this again. If you get this twice please let me know so I can edit out the duplication from my lists. I realize that for many of you the age range we need is wrong, but you are now in our data base for upcoming projects and your characteristics are on file. One thing that would be helpful when you respond to a call for actors is to indicate if you are a pro and need to be paid at SAG rate etc. When reviewing your resumes I noted that many of you must be in the pro or semi-pro ranks. Although we are not amateurs, we are not yet in the position to pay for talent and must rely on our good looks. (I'll be here all week, please tip your waitress.)
The "Bridge Commercials" are really a series of vignettes which promote the card game of contract bridge as something that's not just for the AARP+ set. It's a labor of love for me, one I'm willing to go out of pocket to do. I just don't have deep pockets. (I do have a history, you can Google me on bridge.) I'm writing the scenes to be fun, and plan to overlay them with opera that fits the action. If you are in a scene you'll get a screen credit, and if at all possible within our time constraints I'm going to do my best to be generous with speaking parts, even if only something like "Dude!"
Yes, I realize my writing is a bit Camp, but what the heck, it is a bit tongue in cheek, intended to be fun. (See attached script) I have cast a couple of parts but most are available to go-getters, especially if you can fake playing cards.
Ok, so it's noon to about six this Sunday at the SIERRA VISTA campus of Cochise College. Details etc. follow below. IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND PLEASE LET ME KNOW, AND SUGGEST A ROLE IF THERE IS ONE YOU'D LIKE TO CLAIM. DON'T SEND RESUME, HEADSHOTS, ETC. BRING COPY OF HEADSHOT (PHOTOCOPY OK) WITH YOU.
We may be shooting in Tucson in January, and at that time all you geezers like me (57) may have roles available.

There are age bracket and look limitations. We need fit looking men and women of all races who look like they belong in college. We are looking for 18 (or 16 looking 18 with parent or guardian present please) up to grad student age 28 or so. Mostly I want undergraduate age folks for the close-up and most speaking roles.
Please, no ink, piercings except single earrings or studs for females, and no logos on clothing other than college logos (Bruins, Wildcats, U of A, Cochise College, etc.) No tongue studs etc. if you want a speaking role. No wild or weird clothing or hair, and no excess cleavage or skin tight clothing. We are going for a wholesome look. (If you have a tattoo which you can cover with your clothing that's fine.)
Bring what look like textbooks, backpacks, pens, tablets, notepads, binders, laptops, cell phones, Blackberrys, etc. Keep track of your own stuff on the set.
Please eat before you arrive, but somewhere in the middle of the shoot we'll have pizza etc. A lot of the filming will take place outside in the quad, so bring sunscreen and appropriate inclement weather gear if it looks like it might rain. Please bring your own makeup, but do remember this is film not stage, so don't go nuts. Restrooms will be available for your use. If you have any special needs, medical needs (insulin?) please remember to bring what you need, including a cooler for any special beverage (NO ALCOHOL). Cochise College is non-smoking facility, so leave your smokes in the car. You'll have breaks long enough for a smoke in your car from time to time. No smokeless tobacco please. Obviously, no drugs except for your prescriptions.
All actors should bring head shots with name on it (can be a photocopy) for identification purposes for the screen credits.
Assemble at Cochise College, Sierra Vista campus, between Buildings 500 and 600 from 11:45 to noon
