Nine Buddhas Pictures is competing in the IFP 48 Hour Film Challenge, which will take place from Friday, July 20 at 7 PM through Sunday, July 22 at 7 PM. On Friday night, IFP announces a theme (love lost, 50's TV, buddy films, Hitchcock classics . . . who knows), a line of dialogue and a prop. Each team writes, shoots, and edits a 1-5 minute film that you turn in on Sunday night. All of the work Nine Buddhas does is in or around Tucson. The films screen and the winners are announced on Frida,y, August 10 from 6 PM to 10 PM at the Phoenix Art Museum. They have cash prizes and a wide array of awards (e.g., Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Acress, Best Acting Ensemble, Best Cinematography, Best Music, Best Special Effects, Best Use of Prop, and more). Lots of winners.

We have a team that has competed and won awards in previous competitions, but are looking for a few new actors and a few new filmmakers in all positions (writing, camera, lights, sound, music composition, set production, graphic arts, edit, hair, make up, wardrobe). We have and shoot with broadcast quality equipment (Canon7Ds, L-Series Prime and Zoom Lenses, Arri Lights, Seinhauser Mics, Matthews Grips . . .) .

If you are interested in being part of the team, just respond here saying you want in and saying what you are interested in doing (e.g., write, act, operate a camera, hold a boom . . .)

There is no monetary compensation, but everyone gets title credit and a shiny new copy of the DVD. This is a really fun competitiona and we hope you want to be a part of it.
