Hello Everyone. Chris here. Sheltering in place. How 'bout you?
What a difference 2 years make. This exact time in 2018 we were performing our final show at our original home, 3244 E. Speedway Blvd. The very next day, April 1st, (no foolin') we packed up Unscrewed Theater and moved it down the road to our new (and current) home at 4500 E. Speedway Blvd. #39. We knew then it would be some time before we could perform again in our theater.
Fast-forward two years and here we are again. Not performing at our current home. As of March 15th, the lights at Unscrewed Theater have been dark and because it's the right thing to do (and to adhere to guidelines from the City, State, and CDC) we will continue to be closed throughout April. We can't mention enough how much we miss you. And how important it is for everyone to stay home! And if you haven't heard, wash your hands! With SOAP!
However, we still have to keep improv alive! Like most of the world, we're learning to adapt to all the wonderful technology that's out there. In fact, we're having a HOUSE PARTY! An Unscrewed House Party. Every Saturday night at 7:30pm on ZOOM. More info about ZOOM and how to create a FREE account HERE.
We're showcasing the improvisers from all of our House teams in a format that is as unpredictable as improv itself! The best part is that you don't have to be in Tucson to enjoy the show! You're in your house, we're in our houses. Let's have an improv house party, Unscrewed Theater style. Click HERE to join us every Saturday night until we're able to all be together in person.
Keeping with that theme, we're also offering an online Improv Drop-In class on ZOOM! Mondays from 6:30-8pm you can drop-in and connect with improvisers of all skill levels for a silly session that might turn into your favorite time of the week. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY. As we move into uncharted territory online, one concern stays literally close to our home. As a 100% volunteer-run improv comedy theater, 50% of our revenue comes from ticket sales, and 40% comes from improv classes and venue rentals. Currently, our revenue streams have run dry during this time of physical distancing. We need your help. We're taking part in Arizona Gives Day on April 7th. This year's Arizona Gives Day has taken on a new meaning due to the current pandemic, and there's nothing funny about that.
Every dollar donated will help us get through this temporary shutdown and come back stronger, and funnier than ever! Until then, we'll continue to entertain you on our Facebook page, our YouTube channel, and through the magic of ZOOM!

One last thing...for now. We're cooking up an online improv tournament we're calling Shelter Showdown for the end of April. Miss your brackets? Maybe you can help with that, too.
