The Viewing Room Synopsis and Character Descriptions
Saying goodbye to the dearly departed has never been so funny. The Viewing Room brings a dysfunctional family together at a wake after losing its stern patriarch. It is a peaceful, final goodbye… until the patriarch sits up in his coffin and tries to make amends. This awkward family reunion will leave you laughing in your seats through its timeless themes of reconciliation, family and paying tribute to the deceased.

Six performances - August 2, 3, 4, and 9, 10, 11.

This acclaimed program encourages students from all over our community to write and submit their short stories. Each top young playwright is teamed up with one of LTW's seasoned playwrights/ directors to help get their plays from scripts to the stage. Local talented students audition, perform, and run the tech for all of the shows. With the help of LTW's Children's Theatre leaders, these students take the stage and give a voice to the stories they want everyone to hear. These performances are a great way to see the amazing talent of our Tucson youth. Only 2 performances. Space is limited!

Troubadour Camp and Workshops starting this week still have room!

From: Troubadour Theatre <troubadourtheatre@yahoo.com>
Sent: Wednesday, May 29, 2024 4:07 PM
Subject: Troubadour Camp and Workshops starting this week still have room!

Our summer season is about to begin!   Thanks so much to everyone who has signed up for one of our camps or workshops so far, hope you're excited!

If you haven't signed up yet...here's some offerings in the next week, ALL three of these still have room for more students!

Coming up first we have two workshops!  Either workshop is a great chance for any new students to see our space and meet some camp students in a smaller group setting prior to camp.  Students not signed up for any camp sessions are also more than welcome in the workshops!  The workshops are $25 each.

Audition Workshop: Ages 10-18

Thursday May 30, 4:00-6:00pm

Instructor: Polly Schlitz

Students will receive audition tips from a professional actor and director and practice auditioning.  This workshop is a great way to get some of those audition jitters out before camp auditions. A more confident audition can lead to better parts in plays!

Improv Workshop: Ages 10-18

Saturday June 1, 12:00-2:00pm

Instructor: Alex Totillo

Students will play some fun improv games, and conclude the workshop with a short presentation for parents of their favorite game of the day.  Improv teaches acting skills, teamwork, confidence, and stage presence, and is a really important skill for any actor to have!

Antic Arts Comedic Acting Camp: Ages 11-18

June 3-14, Mon-Fri for two weeks

9:00am-3:30pm

Cost: $425 (any student signed up for another camp camp add Antic Arts for $325!)

Performance: Friday June 14, 5:00pm at Arizona Theatre Company's Cabaret Theatre

Production: Marcus is Walking by Joan Ackermann

Students will learn about acting, play improv games, and rehearse a play to be performed on the final day.  This is a full production of a play complete with costumes, lights, sound performed in a historic professional theatre.

Camps and Workshops located at Troubadour Theatre Studio: 4500 E Speedway Blvd #18, Tucson AZ.

Register for any of these online!  https://campscui.active.com/orgs/TroubadourTheatre  If you have questions or prefer not to use the online registration form, please email me and let me know you'd like to join!
