First Words: Relativity Festival, October 19th-22nd

How does a married couple dealing with issues of sexual orientation
negotiate the rearing of their child?
How does an elderly Lesbian couple living in an assisted living
residence keep their relationship a secret?
Where do a Gay father and his unmarried, pregnant daughter find common
ground on issues of paternity?
.And just what are Gay family values anyway?

The First Words: Relativity Festival, a regional festival sponsored by
Wingspan, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays and The Arizona Human
Rights Fund, presents 4 new plays on the theme of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual,
and Transgender (LGBT) family life. These illuminating and very provocative
works provide a direct and personal perspective on the difficult choices and
complex social dynamics faced by LGBT families. Audiences will be surprised
by characters and plot lines that cross political and social boundaries
separating liberal from conservative, gay from straight. Talk-back sessions
led by a panel of community leaders, representing various political, media,
religious and social service organizations will follow all performances.

The First Words: Relativity Festival is regional, drawing on
submissions from across the Southwest. The plays will be presented on a
rotation as follows with panel discussions following performances on 10/20
