AUDITION NOTICE
The Arizona Rose Theatre will be presenting a virtual (Zoom) production of Ayad Akhtar's winner of the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Disgraced, on Saturday October 24 and Sunday, October 25.
We are casting for the following roles:
Amir (lead): 40, middle eastern ancestry, assimilated corporate lawyer in New York estranged from his Muslim faith
Emily (lead): Amir's wife, early 30s, white, lovely, artistic
Isaac (featured): gallery curator, 40s, white, cultured, refined, smart
Jory (featured): 30s, lawyer, African American, Isaac's wife, super-smart, commanding
Abe ("Ah-bay," featured): early 20s, middle eastern ancestry but totally Americanized presentation, practicing Muslim, idealistic
Rehearsals will all be online and will begin around September 20. Schedule is somewhat flexible, but usually weekday early evenings (Tucson AZ time) and weekend afternoons. There will be small stipends, but unfortunately we cannot manage Equity contracts — however, happy to work with actors who can secure waivers for this kind of performance.
