Audition Announcement: Role available for Black Female/Female-presenting Actor in staged reading of One-Person Show

The Rogue Theatre in Tucson will be holding virtual auditions on Saturday, October 17, 2020, from 12 pm to 1 pm for their staged reading of Pretty Fire by Charlayne Woodard.

"Exhilarating and unflaggingly entertaining…One of the most positive pictures of the black-American experience I've ever seen on stage…Rapturous tales…"

—from the New York Times review of Pretty Fire

We are seeking a non-Equity Actor of African-American descent, between the ages of 30 and 65, to lead this one-person show that includes multiple characters. Female/Female-presenting. Comfort and familiarity with singing Gospel music is a plus but not absolutely required.

The rehearsal process will take place primarily via Zoom, with a December/January schedule to be determined together by the director and actor hired. The performance will be filmed at The Rogue Theatre (with social distancing and other safety precautions in place) for streaming online in early Spring.

Auditions will be held online by appointment only. Actors will be provided with sides from the script prior to the audition. To set up your audition time, please email Christopher at theroguetheatretucson@gmail.com with the headline: "Pretty Fire."

This is a paid position.
