Pima Theatre presents

A 1940'S RADIO CHRISTMAS CAROL

ONE NIGHT ONLY!

Friday, December 4 at 7 pm

$10 Minimum Donation

donations up to full-time tuition (12 credits - $1,044)

Donations are accepted at the Pima Foundation website. All monies raised support the Achievement Award, which provides assistance to incoming theatre students to help pay for tuition.

Join Pima Arts Alumni for a one night only production of A 1940's Radio Christmas Carol. Alumni Guest Artists include, Alexis Burrows, Gaby De Brequet, Maria Gawne, Todd Thompson, Erin Thompson and David Zinke. Several alums are pulling double duty: Maria Gawne (Director), Music Director Alexis Burrows (Music Director) and Andrea Pratt (Producer) create a concert-style format that is socially distanced.

Storyline: It's Christmas Eve, 1943, and the Feddington Players are preparing for a live radio broadcast of their own version of Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Complicated by noisy plumbing, missed cues, electrical blackouts, and the over-the-top theatrics of their special guest, the broadcast takes a hilarious turn when the performers are forced to improvise a hysterically unusual ending in order to "save the show."

Featuring swing arrangements of Christmas standards and four original songs, A 1940's Christmas Carol is a heartwarming and laugh-out-loud piece that will give you all the holiday feels you have been craving.

Arizona Rose Theatre : 'All In The Timing' by David Ives LIVE STREAMING THIS WEEKEND

Subject: 'All In The Timing' by David Ives

LIVE STREAMING THIS WEEKEND!!

ALL IN  THE TIMING by David Ives

FREE ONLINE PERFORMANCE
(Donations are appreciated)

DECEMBER 5th at 7pm
DECEMBER 6th at 2pm

Directed by Luke Howell

Starring: Daniel Hagberg, Emily Gates, Kate Scally Howell, Griffin Alan Ogg, Elena Quach, Roberta Rubin & Robert Sanchez

"All in the Timing," by playwright David Ives. This comedy wraps David Ives' love of playing on words and existential perspectives on life into a witty production sure to make the entire audience laugh. It is a collection of comedic and thought provoking one acts that explore random topics such as monkeys trying to rewrite Shakespeare, cafe patrons finding themselves in alternate realities, and an average New Yorker deciding to be a French impressionist painter for a day.

"Sure Thing," in which two strangers meet in a coffee shop by chance; fate does everything it can to ensure they wind up together.

"Words, Words, Words," in which three chimpanzees wreak havoc and ponder their existence while trapped in a laboratory room with three typewriters to see how long it takes at least one of them to write "Hamlet."

"The Universal Language," in which a conman attempting to make money by teaching a language mostly comprised of gibberish is thrown off by a new student who picks it up much too quickly.
"Variations on the Death of Trotsky," in which Leo Trotsky, the
famous Russian political figure, dies repeatedly in the presence of his wife at the pickaxe-wielding hands of their Mexican gardener.

"The Philadelphia," in which two best friends meet for lunch; one is having the worst day ever while the other is experiencing the opposite. A snarky server is less than helpful.

"Philip Glass Buys a Loaf Of Bread," a parodic musical vignette in trademark Glassian style, with the celebrated composer having a moment of existential crisis in a bakery.

PimaArts Alumni present “A 1940’s Radio Christmas Carol”

Christmas Carol – Pima Foundation

PimaArts Alumni "A 1940's Radio Christmas Carol" Join Pima Arts Alumni on Friday, December 4th-One night only

Season's Greetings my friend,

I've been treading the boards of live stage theaters for five decades.  I completed studies in Theater Arts at Pima Community college in 2009 and proceeded to achieve a Bachelor of Arts in Performance Art from the University of Arizona at the fresh young age of 62. I just turned 70.

When Covid 19 shut down the Great White Way it did not spare local community theaters. I was in rehearsal for three shows when everything closed. But the show must go on and Pima Community College Alumnus have come together to make it happen. I think it is an honor to be asked to help future graduates with a little tuition assistance in these trying times especially since the Federal Govt. is not likely to offer any help this spring or even next fall.

This production was staged and recorded respecting the many and needed protocols for safety during the pandemic.

If you have never been able to catch me performing in person or at least not for decades, here is a chance to see me as Mr. St. Clare playing Ebeneezer Scrooge in a 1940's Radio Play.

Click on the image below and then click on the donate button to give a minimum donation of ten bucks to this great cause and get a link to watch on December 4 at 7 pm.  I trust you will enjoy this version of A Christmas Carol and I thank you for your help paying tuition for deserving/aspiring actors and techies. BTW  This ain't a Zoom meeting.  This a staged and costumed pre-recorded show produced in the Black Box Theater at Pima Community College.

Please forgive me if this is a duplicate invite.  I'm trying to get it to people I may have omitted on the first try.

Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays to you all whether you tune in or not.  Really!

Virtual hugs for all!

David Zinke.

P.S.  Please forward this to any and all of your friends. Thanks

From our TIM family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving!  We hope you have a wonderful day, and that your relatives laugh at all of your jokes and recognize the subtly of your delivery over Zoom!

As you do your Black Friday shopping and start preparing for the holiday season please think about shopping local on Fourth Avenue.  The Historic Fourth Avenue Coalition is running a raffle initiative to encourage you to shop local.  Grab an entry card at Pop Cycle starting this Friday, November 27th, spend at least $10 at any four of the member businesses (details on the entry card) and you will be entered in a raffle for a treasure chest of gift cards from the participating businesses!

We at TIM hope you support this initiative, and all of the businesses along 4th Ave.  I think we have a few more months of full COVID before we get back to hopefully half normal, and we want to make sure as much of our neighborhood district is intact when we can get up and running again.  Also check out the TIM Online Store on our website, and maybe send some people TIM gear for the holidays!
