Tucson, Arizona— When the pandemic hit at the beginning of the year, Pima Theatre Lead Faculty, Chris Will, decided that the theatre students would create their own script in order to continue having Theatre performances this year.

Pima Theatre students interviewed people from across the country to see how they were handling this year. These stories were turned into monologues and compiled into five different volumes to be released every Wednesday, starting November 11th.

Chris Will says, "These states are not just blue and red - they are filled with more than just colors. They are filled with people, real people, who have stories to be told. Earlier this year 25 students in the theatre department at Pima College interviewed many different citizens all across America. It was a good experience for them to check in to see how America was doing, how we were doing, how you were doing. Our students then took these stories and transcribed them into monologues, letters to America from Americans."

As part of the initiative for this brand new and exciting project, monies raised will go to a new theatre fund created this year. This new Achievement Award opportunity goes to new students interested in theatre, who may not otherwise be able to afford college.
