Audition Overview

Be a part of this industry revolutionizing production! RENT is an ensemble show featuring a highly diverse cast with 10+ featured soloists. Due to adult themes and content, actors must be 16 and older to audition.

Audition information:

Sunday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Tuesday, Dec. 7, 5 - 10 p.m.
Wednesday, Dec. 8, 5 - 10 p.m.
Monday, Dec. 13, 5 - 10 p.m. (optional)

Callbacks:

Saturday, Dec. 18, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 19, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Rehearsals will be held on the following days:

January 4, 6, 8, 11, 13, 15, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 29, 31
February 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 19, 21, 22
March 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 12, 14, 15, 19, 21, 23, 30

Performances are March 24-27 and March 31-April 3, with 10 performances in total. Thursday - Saturday evenings at 7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Actors must be available for all performances.

Synopsis

Rent, a rock musical with music, lyrics, and book by Jonathan Larson, is loosely based on Giacomo Puccini's 1896 opera La Bohème. It tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists struggling to survive and create a life in Lower Manhattan's East Village in the thriving days of bohemian Alphabet City, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.
