Audition Overview

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN AET'S PRODUCTION OF MARY POPPINS!

This audition is for the following two roles only:

(1) Mary Poppins Swing -  this role will provide back-up to all performances of Mary Poppins AND will have two scheduled performance dates of 12/20 10 am and 12/21 7 pm.  This role will also be in the ensemble and provide coverage as needed for other ensemble roles.

(2) Michael Banks Understudy (ages 7-14)  - this role will provide back-up to all performances of Michael Banks and will be in the ensemble.

For the initial audition, please prepare 32-bars of a musical theatre piece that showcases your vocal range and personality.  Please do not select a song from the show,  Bring a music track (with no backing vocals).  We will have a stereo with an AUX cord as needed. 

In addition to your initial audition, we will also ask you to provide a cold read/sing from Mary Poppins.  Tracks and music will be provided at the time of audition.

PLEASE TRIPLE-CHECK your availability relative to the rehearsal/show schedule above.  Actors are called based on the show/role (actors are not called for all rehearsals). Actors will be asked to confirm that they have no/minimal conflicts (with no conflicts during  tech week or shows).

Synopsis

It'll be a jolly holiday with Mary! Mary Poppins is a practically perfect musical! Based on the books by P. L. Travers and the classic Walt Disney film, Mary Poppins the Musical has delighted over 20 million audience members worldwide. Ring in the season in 1910 England, as our favorite nanny reminds us all of the importance of family. Mary Poppins is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs, breathtaking dance numbers and astonishing stagecraft. It'll be a "Mary" Christmas for sure!
