🛎️Yes and News - 10/30/25

This weekend feels like the perfect mix of love, laughter, and spooky vibes. First off, a huge shoutout to two of our amazing company members, Jen Blanco and Czarina Nafarrate, who are both getting married this weekend (not to each other!). We're sending them all the congratulations and happy wishes from their TIM family!

At the theater, we're deep in Halloween weekend fun. Friday night's lineup is packed: the Improv Jam kicks things off at 6:30 pm, followed by Soapbox featuring Gowri Kapali and The Bat—an improv show performed entirely in the dark (yes, really!). Gowri works at the University of Arizona Batlab, and is a performing company member at TIM, she will kick off the show with two stories! Then at 9 pm, it's Creepin' It Real: A Really Funny Show, where our performers hit the stage in full costume for some frighteningly funny improv.

Sadly, we have to sit out Saturday night this week—we just didn't have enough performers and staff to make it happen. We're bummed, but sometimes even ghosts and ghoulies need a night off.  But there is still Pretendy Time, so bring out your young stars for a super fun Halloween version of our family comedy show at 11 am on Saturday!

And next week, it's time for the Tucson Comedy Arts Festival! . We have teams coming from Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, North Carolina, and all over Arizona.  It is the can't miss comedy party of the year! Grab your All-Access Pass for just $40 to see every show, or snag tickets to individual ones

A satirical comment on gender roles and sexuality, the play is set first in colonial British Africa in the 19th century, and then in modern day with many of the same characters. Cloud 9 is comical, anachronistic, gender-bending, and profound.

Unscrewed Theater is Tucson's ONLY volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit community theater dedicated to the fun and the healing laughter found in improv comedy.

One last thing...Can you do us a solid?

For over ELEVEN hilarious years, we've been keeping Tucson entertained with affordable (and often FREE) comedy. And remember when we took over your screen during lockdown?

You watched, you laughed, and you didn't even have to wear pants. We call that a win-win.

Now that we're in person AND beaming comedy around the world on Zoom, we need your help to keep the laughter flowing — both virtually and IRL.

Here's the deal: we're cranking up the fun with more pay-what-you-will shows, free classes, and all the wacky, belly-laugh-inducing stuff you love.

But to keep those doors (physical AND digital) open, we could use a little boost.

If you can spare a few bucks — $5, $10, $100 (hey, we're not picky!) — just smoosh that button down there.

Whether it's a one-time high-five or a monthly "I've got your back" recurring donation, every bit helps us keep Tucson laughing now... and in 3024, when AI holograms are headlining our shows.

We promise: every single penny goes toward spreading joy, silliness, and the occasionally awkward improv scene.

Cuz laughter is the best thing ever.

So go ahead, smash that button
👇👇 and let the good times roll! We'll send you a big ol' THANK YOU and maybe even an interpretive dance. No promises on the choreography, though.
