Subject: The famous Degas Ballerinas have left the canvas… and stepped onto our stage! 🩰
100 years of history - One magical stage. The beauty of Ballet Tucson has found its perfect match in the Temple of Music and Art, where Degas's Ballerinas come alive in Chieko Imada's The Phantom of the Opera, inspired by the 1925 silent film. We want to thank our community partners at Arizona Theatre Company for so warmly welcoming us into our new theatrical home. Their generosity and support reflect the vibrant spirit of collaboration that makes Tucson's arts community so special.
Don't miss Magic in the Moonlight, a spellbinding performance featuring four unique ballets October 31st - November 2nd!

BE MOVED by our 2025/2026 Season and receive a special commemorative gift at our Magic in the Moonlight performance.
Prepare to be dazzled by dynamic dancing, glamour, and theatrics. Paul Gibson's striking choreography enthralled audiences in 2024 and now we premiere his ballet Sense of Doubt, a thrilling display of power and athleticism. We also bring the return of Resident Choreographer Chieko Imada's Phantom of the Opera, inspired by both the 1910 Leroux novel and the 1925 silent film, celebrating its 100th anniversary this fall! This famous tale of murder and mayhem includes the signature falling chandelier and haunting boat ride, in addition to a classroom scene straight out of one of Edgar Degas' famous ballerina paintings with students of The School of Ballet Tucson. The evening is rounded out by two classic works — Clair de Lune Pas de Deux choreographed by Artistic Director Margaret Mullin, and Chieko Imada's virtuosic Black Swan Pas de Deux from the timeless ballet Swan Lake, where the ballerina's extraordinary feat of thirty-two fouettés promises to amaze.
Join us for a sparkling post-performance celebration on opening night of Magic in the Moonlight! Enjoy the chance to mingle with our talented company dancers as we toast the magic of the evening and the 100th anniversary of The Phantom of the Opera silent film, which inspired Chieko Imada's dramatic ballet. A chic and festive way to celebrate Halloween and Ballet Tucson!
To attend, patrons must have a ticket for the October 31st 7:00pm Magic in the Moonlight performance.
