Plot:
Garson Kanin (Academy Award nominee for Pat & Mike and Adam’s Rib) penned the classic American romantic comedy of mobster Harry Brock and his girlfriend Billie Dawn. Billie has been plucked from the chorus line and is given a new look at life and love by newspaper man Paul Verrall. Kanin paints an enduringly patriotic portrait of post-World War II Washington D.C. as Harry attempts to complete his wheeling and dealing and hold on to his increasingly independent girlfriend at the same time.
