Tucson's Gila Monster Improv Festival
to be held Feb. 23rd and 24th benefiting Tucson Community Food Bank


(Tucson, AZ - Modern Languages 350, UA) - The Street-Prov Theatre
Collective, a Tucson-born long-form improvisation group, is hosting its
first annual long-form improv comedy festival showcasing the talents of
improvisers from across the country. The Gila Monster Improv Festival
(G-MIF) features free admission and is expected to be the largest-ever
national improv festival in Tucson.

Located on the U of A campus, Modern Languages Room 350, G-MIF runs from
Friday, February 23, through Saturday, February 24, and will feature such
nationally-recognized improv artists as ColdTowne (from New Orleans by way
of Austin, TX), JoKyR's WyLd (of Salt Lake City) and Bob Fisher (featured
at the Annoyance Theatre in Chicago).

The G-MIF lineup also includes several other groups from Phoenix and local
groups The Charles Darwin Experience, Comedy Corner and Not Burnt Out Just
Unscrewed.

Doors open both Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:30 and admission is free
for all to attend. Donations of food and/or money are encouraged and will
be accepted at the box office, with all proceeds going to the Tucson
Community Food Bank.

Improv workshops will be held throughout the weekend and are open to all
interested parties. The cost of the workshops will be minimal, intended
only to cover the expense of the instructor. Details on workshops and
