University Filmmakers Organization at the University of Arizona is holding a casting call for their spring short!!!! The Casting call will take place on FRIDAY MARCH 2 FROM 2-4 AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA DRAMA BUILDING ROOM 114. The film takes place in the glitz and glitter of 1920's Hollywood where young actor Gene France discovers the bloodied corpse of a call girl in his apartment. Fearing he's been framed, he attempts to cover up the murder in order to preserve his career. We are currently planning on filming the last weekend in March, two weeks after spring break. We are looking to cast all major characters! Below is a list and short description of the characters we are trying to cast!
Gene France (20 -- 26 yrs): Tall, black hair, thin mustache, with an air of brooding sophistication. Gene is a young up and coming actor with an inferiority complex who has the blossoming career everybody wants, yet he's not satisfied. He constantly falls into episodes of self-loathing that cause him to descend into darkness.
Frank "Goldie" Goldberg (32 -- 50 yrs): Medium height, thick body type, but still very animated and agile. Goldie is a somewhat experienced producer who is attempting to establish himself as a big tycoon in the movie business. He seems overtly friendly and playful, but has a ruthless side that lurks just underneath the gloss.
Viviana Rosetti: (20 -- 26 yrs): Brunette or red hair, tall for a woman, carries herself with discrete dignity. She is a well educated east coast city girl who happens to charge people for sex. She does not classify herself as a common sex worker, which her repeated customer Gene France does not seem to understand.
Woman # 2 (20 -- 26 yrs): Blonde. She is a high class socialite that thinks highly of herself and enjoys watching men like Gene France make fools of themselves.
Producer # 2 (38 -- 50 yrs): Older, seasoned producer. He is Frank "Goldie" Goldberg's only confidant.
Please bring a head shot and a resume. We will be posting short scenes for each characters audition too so please come prepared to read those (but we will have copies so you do not need to memorize if you do not want to)
