Magic Hour
Free and open to the public, The Loft Cinema presents a screening of short student films titled, Magic Hour, fiction films by the BA and BFA junior classes, on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at 7:00pm.
What do a street kid, a milk enthusiast, a soap addict, a chess wizard, a magical healer, a hit man, a hopeless romantic and a real-life vampire have in common? They’re all a part of Magic Hour, a free screening that highlights great, short, fiction films made by students at The University of Arizona’s School of Theatre, Film and Television!
Here are the loglines from the short films that will be screened at Magic Hour:
The Milky Way: A quirky and anachronistic young woman must pour her efforts into her job selling milk in order to prove that she can succeed on her own.
Breaking Up: Two friends lament their break ups.
Hoodies: A young man must choose between the love of his sister or the seductive power of the streets.
Lady in Blue: A Victorian woman stands up to her lover after he enslaves and exploits a mysterious lady with healing abilities.
Less Than Three: Allison, a hopeless romantic living in a romcom without the rom, thinks her dreams have come true when a handsome stranger saves her life.
Thirst: A young man caught between animalistic desires and genuine human connection embarks on a night of debauchery.
Soapocalypse: In a world where 95% of people are addicted to the soap, Thunder Red, what happens when it all disappears?
The Queen’s Sacrifice: A son must prove himself through the only means his father understands – a chess match.
