Subject: Tucson Sci Fi Film Fest
Hey Southern Arizona Filmmakers, “TusCon”, Tuscon’s own Science fiction, Fantasy and Horror Convention announces the first annual TusCon Sci Fi, Fantasy and Horror Short Film Festival to take place during the 41st anniversary of the TusCon Sci Fi, Fantasy and horror convention (“TusCon 41”).
This is a formally juried film festival. 3 official selections in each category will screen at the prestigious 41st anniversary TusCon science fiction fantasy and horror convention. Winners in each category will be awarded a framed award and other prizes. Trailers for all official selections and winners in each category will be posted on the TusCon website with bio information for the filmmakers, if submitted. Many will enter and only a few will be selected in each category.
The Film Festival is presented in partnership with Picture Arizona, LLC and officiated in part by acclaimed producer, actor, director, music manager and arts advocate Eric Schumacher www.picarizona.com
Attendees of TusCon are among the most dedicated fans of science fiction, fantasy, and horror and many attendees are professional writers, film producers, artists, and reporters who keep others informed about the goings on in the industry. This year's guest of honor is Janni Lee Simner, author of the popular Bones of Fairie series published by Random House. Artist Guest of Honor is popular fantasy artist Sarah Clemens. Special Media Guests are Martial Arts Film star Ernie Reyes Jr and Jeffrey Notkin, host of the Science Channel’s hit show Meteorite Men and Cox TV’s The Stem Journals. Special musical guests this year are the Whiskey Bards. Publicity for the convention should be high.
How to Enter: Films entered for consideration must be mailed with appropriate collateral material and must be received by the TusCon 41 science fiction, fantasy, and horror screening event committee (the “Submissions Committee”) no later than 5pm on Monday September 1, 2014.
