COSTUMER FOR THE GREAT AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE
Costumer need for the Great American Playhouse, a Musical Melodrama Theatre in Oro Valley. We are a year round Theatre producing 5 shows a year with 4 performances a week consisting of a cast of 9. We are looking for someone to partner with the creative team and costume the performers for each production. This persons responsibility consists of the following:
- receive the list of characters from the director, design the costume for each cast
member with the input from the Director
- the costumer will be responsible for going and finding the costume for each character or
making the costume should they not be able to find something already put together
- the costumer will not only costume the show but also the Olio which happens after
the show and is filled with songs and dance numbers
- Costumer will keep the costume room neat and organized
- fix small costume repairs if needed once the show is up and running
- must have a flexible schedule
- be able to work alone without constant direction
- there is the option to do some of the above work from home
- this position is part-time and will be paid a flat fee for each production
