PCC Dance presents its annual spring concert Dance Fusion, under the direction of Nolan Kubota. This diverse and dynamic performance features dance faculty and student choreographed pieces inspired by a variety of classical and contemporary movement processes distinctive of each choreographer. The program highlights a vibrant blend of music and dance styles including ballet, modern and jazz.
Kubota comments, "Creating Pima's spring dance concert, DANCE FUSION, has been an exercise in exploring new movement and technique for myself and faculty Erika Colombi, and Mirela Roza. And with pieces ranging from a re-staging of "La Vivandiere" to original works derived from Forsythe improvisation techniques, the show also promises to be one of the most original the program has ever presented."
In addition to Kubota and Roza, the Pima dancers have contributed several works. The program also includes dances by the adult ensemble from Arts for All, a local mixed abilities dance company led by Karenne Koo.
